Mini Rigs of Doom Four

updated pic... sorry for the cell phone photo, but anyway,, Ampeg PF500,, took a chance with Musicians Friends "Stupid Deal of the Day". Bought it B-stock for $239.00,,back when the 500 was less than popular............ turns out its revision "J", I've had no failure problems for several months, and I've pushed it really hard. Eden EX112 cab,,,, walked into my local GC trolling for deals, and actually my wife brought it to my attention,,,, used cab, not even a dog or cat hair on it,, walked out with it for just over $120 bucks, its the 4 ohm version, so I get the full 500 watts of the Ampeg into the Eden. Not that I wouldn't do that, but I get maximum output from the amp. So, for just about $350 bucks, I got a great little garage, small room rig that sounds great. I tossed the beer can in there for scale...

I posted earlier in this thread with a SWR Workingman's 10 and also a MB200 with a Hartke 210 XL. I sold the SWR and the 210XL. still have the MB200. Got a 4 ohm Eden EX112. Works great with the MB200 but here is the rig of doom:bassist: :D

Got an LB30 myself currently using with an Ashdown VS112 and love it for studio and quieter gigs. Would love to hear how you've found the EX112. Have been interested in these for a while but hardly ever see any reviews on them! How does an overdriven LB30 sound through them? Also how are they for volume, low end and punch?

ditto. would like to hear of the EX112 in real life.
the gk neo ii is actually a little bigger than I like toting frequently.
somewhere I have one of the really old original [HEAVY] swr WM 12's. that size is the right size if I could get in a lightweight modern neo...

mini guys, let me ask: what is the REAL competition to the MB200? its brother? I've read this debate here and there and no one seems really convinced of competitor that hits all the checkboxes... I'm looking to makeup a 2nd mini-rig for bass and occasional keys

It's been a while since I started this thread. My current mini rig is my only rig, I just add a second cab on occasion. The tube pre was built by Carl Carrasco. It sits perfectly on the Demeter 800D 'Minnie' and pushes one of my Acme Flatwound cabs. This whole rig weighs in at about 50 lbs.
As far as the Doom goes, this cab properly powered is frightening in it's low end. I use an fdeck HPF to tame it.

Wow! Is this from the 80's? I think I remember seeing the ads for these when they came out. Cool.
I was thinking 90's but it's strange because until I found this one I have never seen another Trace Elliot 2x10 combo that is "vertically setup" like this one. It's like it was either a limted run from the factory or perhaps a special order as most other Trace Elliot 2x10 red stripe combo's I've seen the speakers are side by side in a horizontal setup with the port holes above them. The serial number, date and exact model has faded beyond readability since they physically wrote them in with marker back then so honestly your guess and knowledge is as good as mine. I can say though it's an awesome combo, good tone and very loud.

Trace had a huge number of configurations available. I recognize this one. Unfortunately, it was introduced at a time when stacks with 4x10s on top of 1x15s were king. The SWR 2x10 combo s were considered more for clean studio work.
