Sometimes I have a hard time imagining how some of you guys can carry....

speaking of carry... so I'm only one-tripping a GK 115-MBX [claimed 40lb] in one hand/hip, a bagfull of all the junk we all think we need to have 'just in case', including a few pedals, power supplies, endless adapters of every type, patch cables, tools, velcro straps, batteries, a few termites and dead crickets... , and my 'backpack: my road bag with J-bass, MB200 in the pocket, various and sundry other things. Its not an easy tote right now, mainly because, though the cab is not terribly heavy, and GK wisely put the handles in the right spot, offset to one side so your arm isn't strung out - its still 'clumsy' to carry, and the cab does not fit neatly into a wide range of vehicles. but I love that cab... one of the biggest "exceeds my expectations on every level" surprises I ever had, gearwise.

so I'm now looking for the 112s... if any of you have an opine based on experience of the GK 112 mbx vs the neo-III... I'm on a mission to complete something soon, and those are way more available than the more exotic cabs

The HB is pretty nice... 280w/8Ohm. The cab is very loud (100db!) and sounds sweet IMHO.

A Fane 12" 200... extremely sensitive, light and cheap too.

A Combo of:
Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 and Epifani UL310 series 1

I've tried several combos before but it's the best combo so far. I used the Shuttle combo's saddle to attach the amp to the cab. Click for larger view:

Well mine is lightweight, but I am not sure about the mini part....

guess its all a matter of perspective. For me, moving from a pair of 410's @ 85lbs each and a rack set up weighing in around 60lbs to a 6lbs head and sub 50lbs cab is going "micro."

I am wanting to know - how many of you with the rigs made up of a single 8ohm 1x12 (with around 200-250W at 8ohms going through) play in rock bands (classic rock, 70's punk, etc)?

That totally depends on your band. How loud are your drummer and your guitards? For me, there is only one single 12" cab that might hang with my band, and its a custom. For my purposes on lower volume gigs/practices I take my 15/6, at 35 pounds its a one hand carry.

I've used my GK Neo112 for some jobs.
I've used one Baer ML112 for some jobs.
I've used an AudioKinesis TC112, and Fearful 12/6/1 for some stuff.

Generally, I'd rather bring two, and under use them, than bring one and push it real hard.

My amps have a volume knob, and I have been told they have some sort of "lower setting" on them that I could use...

I bring more than I need and use less if I have to. Better to have it and not use it, than be pushing what I have so far that it might pop.
