Ministry Bass Overdrive/Distortion

Hah! I think those play kinda clumsy, but obviously they work great for Paul. I personally, love Ministry, but you'd never guess it from what I do for a living...Paul seems to like my band and that makes me happy :)

Yea, I'm not sure if I've ever heard a B:Assmaster on any Ministry album. Didn't he design that pedal after this then career with Ministry?

I'm listening to albums: Animositisomina, Filth Pig, Houses of the Mole, Dark Side of the Spoon..

The pedal is an exact replica of Paul's beloved Maestro Brassmaster aka the distortion you hear on Filth Pig, DSOTS, etc. Josh Holley, for the record, is the actual designer. Paul is half owner of the company, though.

"malekko is a new boutique company founded by good friends josh holley (noteable musician and synth enthusiast) and paul barker (professional studio musician and former bassist / song writer of ministry).

paul barker has relied on the maestro brassmaster for years to give his bass a unique sound not found anywhere else. using his trusted brassmaster as reference, josh and paul have worked hard so that the malekko b:assmaster sounds exactly like the original.

the malekko b:assmaster also includes a number of much needed modern updates : "pop-less" true bypass, uniquely recessed led, smaller sturdy alluminum enclosure, top of the line components, and virtually indestructable lexan graphics."

Thanks.

I feel really silly now for not realizing the connection between Barker and the B:Assmaster.
Is the Brassmaster the fuzz that's at the beginning of Lava on Filthpig? That sound has been imprinted into my sonic memory since High School.
