Scuz = TWO!!! I don't need MN_Bass's 8x10, I don't have anyplace to store MN_Bass's 8x10, but for some deranged reason I still want MN_Bass's 8x10. $300. Someone should pick this thing up! Never have to say "I'm sorry, could you turn down?" again...

I've been salivating over it ever since I saw it pop up like a week or so ago on CL, and I'm going mental after seeing the Jensen MOD 10-50 thread. Ugh, someone needs to buy this Avatar lol. $300 is a stupid deal on the 810 and a not-so-bad deal on the Avatar.

What Mod 10-50 thread? I have four of them in a sealed cab. Nice enough. Do I have to bring it along to the GTG? I don't think I can pull it off - I want to bring my GB NeoX 212T instead and the GB is easier to carry. kraigo at bitstream dot net - if you want to stop over some time to check them out.

I've got a Ampeg PortaBass 1x10 (PB-110H) cab that has a nasty buzz when you hit a low F. I want that cab back in action.

1) If anyone knows how to track down and fix the buzz, that'd be great.

2) If anyone has a burned up PB-110H that they'd like to sell me the cab for, I'm interested.

3) If anyone can recommend a good local cabinet builder, I may go that route.

TIA.

Some recommendations on troubleshooting:

1. Does it happen with more than one bass? More than one amp going into the cabinet?

2. Do you know for sure it's the speaker and not something else? Have you checked for loose screws, a rattling grille, etc.?

3. Is it possible it's fretbuzz coming off of your bass?

4. Is the speaker creased?

It's definitely the cab, confirmed with multiple basses and amps. I replaced most of the screws with T-Nuts and bolts and had the grill off as well as a thorough caulking. The speaker is not creased - I think there some ply separation or a void in the plies or something. The cab is completely dismembered right now - the box is still in one piece, but it's components.

I have been thinking of getting a new cab made out of plexi, especially since it's a small cab and panel flex wouldn't be much of a concern. I wouldn't want to put the batting back in and it would no longer be incredibly light, though. It sure would look cool.

I just need to find the right cabinet builder or someone with a blown PB110-H. I've almost written off finding and fixing the buzz on this cab.

The other question is what I'd do for a finish. It it had a nice veneer, it might be nice to just go with wood grain - it's not a "rock and roll" cab that bounces around in the back of vehicles and gets banged against bar doors.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts. I've been all over this cab and haven't found the buzz.

I can make it but have to coach basketball till 7:30 so I'll be a bit late. I'll bring a few basses from my collection along. I've got a couple new ones and a few to sell as usual. I was thinking of bringing my little Line 6 110 combo for fun.
