I'm Darek. Played bass with Leroy Smokes and Child of the Black Madonna. Last place o'residence was in columbia heights. I'm in arkansas right now but soon as I can save up enough dough I'm movin back. It's MAD boring down here. Probably move back to the uptown area.

Wallace Heartly and the Titanics....what a great band.
I used to see them at Nye's, setup mostly on the floor since the stage in the bar room only holds two or three people.

No kiddin, that place is tiny. My friend barry is the kitchen manager there. Fun bar. One of the bartenders there I used to work with over at champps. I think he's the bar manager now.

Hey all, I'm Ethan. I live near Hamline University in St. Paul. I used to play bass in Cowboy Curtis, but now play mainly in the living room.

I do, however, currently play cello in Spaghetti Western String Co. I recently got a 1/4 size upright which is pretty fun and might make its way into some SWSCo. tunes before too long.

I play some guitar as well, but haven't been doing that too much lately either.

Incidentally, I have a Schroeder 1210R and a Fender Blues Deville 4x10 guitar combo I've been planning to sell/trade (kinda looking for small/powerful combos - Markbass, Genz Benz, GK, etc.), just in case anyone is interested.

Anyone want to have a gear nerd party someday? It would be fun to get some gear together and play around with things that we can't usually find in the shops . . .

That sounds perfect, MNAirHead!!! Where downtown St. Paul? Will parking be a problem? I played Matty B's. (St. Paul on Cedar St.) last year. We had fun but very few customers.

We need to pick a date. I'd suggest a Tuesday or something like that - early week night - to minimize scheduling conflicts.

I'd bring a Genz Shuttle 6.0 and a NeoX 212T. And a drumset. Oh, and beer.

Gig spam for 2/5 in the Minnesota bassists club thread.

If it's a home built cabinet shootout, then I could bring one of my "successes" for evaluation and critique. I have a few failures to save for next time.

Or we can bring our home made whatevers - I have a P-Bass that is balanced on the knife edge between success and failure. I call that "personality"...

Yeah, we (Cool Disposition) played a set. I was the fat old guy with the cowboy hat playing a red P/J bass. We went to the IBC in Memphis 2 years ago.

I saw your poster when I was taking a leak at McMahon's last night. 30 lbs. of BlueJeans hadn't played a gig in probably two years. We had fun and by most accounts we sounded good.

How are those cabs coming along, MNAirHead? I'd love to schedule the GTG and the warehouse sounds like just the thing.
