I think we're gathering names first then figuring out when. It sounds like a Monday or Tuesday. Can we brainstorm on how to keep the seriously out-of-towners from having to rent very many hotel rooms?

I'm down - I've got some Dr. Bass cabs, a Geddy Lee and soon a Genz-Benz Shuttle Max 12.0 that I can bring, along with some pedals. As long as I know in advance I can get off work monday or tuesday night.
Not in a band right now, but I'm looking. I'm down for sub work if you guys need one sometime - I've done blues and rock for as long as I've been playing, could do a funk gig if needed lol.

I'm planning on bringing (in a Prius) my Genz Shuttle 6.0 and NeoX 212T. And a small drumset. I've got a couple of nice small tube guitar combo amps (Trace Elliot Velocette 1x10 and Fender Pro Jr.) that I could bring as well if anyone wants to bring a guitar or two. I'd also like to bring my Ampeg PortaBass 1x10 _IF_ I get it to stop buzzing on F's by then.
If anyone else is bringing a GB NeoX 212T I won't bother. A big part of the attraction for me is that we don't get many chances to mix and match bass gear in shops in this stupid guitar-oriented state, so variety is a real blessing.

We have a friend coming down from Northern Wisconsin..
IF he's willing to make the trip, we should let him set the date... I'm out the weekend of March 15th.
ALSO.. if anyone is interested. I'm connected with a shop.. I'm sure they would let us test drive some SWR, Marshall or something...

I do have a Peavey 130 watt.. small PA .. few bass amps (if you don't want to haul one).. I could supply an electric/acoustic Acoustic.. possibly a hollowbody... My drum machine is not as cool as my old Sequential.
AMPEG request --- the warehouse young man (at my work) just bought a new schecter .. he's now wanting to buy (well over $1000) Ampeg amps.. I don't know if he's ever played one... is anyone qualified to give him honest advice.. metal kid wanting metal volume.

I guess it kind of depends on how many out-of-towners we have - serious Two-plus-hours-road-time out-of-towners. I'm guessing that a Friday or a Saturday would be better for them. On the other hand, many of us gig on Fridays and Saturdays.
Should we do a poll for preferred says of the week?
After that a poll for calendar dates?
I'm really pretty much up for anything - my active band either just broke up or is taking a break for the next couple of months. My other band has no gigs booked.
As a date gets a bit more firm, someone should talk to Tony at Planet Bass to see if he'd like to show up and perhaps bring some jaw dropping gear. I've only met him once but would be willing to do it. If anyone knows him better I'd happily let them.
I need to get my Skyline wired up properly with the Nordstrand Dual Coils I have in there before we have this thing.

Why a dumb idea? At least I'd like to see if he'd be interested in showing up. It's not like he has to schlep a lot of gear there for us. It's good business for him.

My guitarist friend loves hanging out and checking out bass gear as much as I, so he could come along and bring his little tube combo and guitar so we could check things out in a more "band-like" context.

Hey. This thread is a great idea. Haven't read it all but has anyone suggested a Sunday afternoon? Not a normal gig day, enough time for out of towners to make the drive. I have a Schroeder 21012R I'd like to sell- I could bring it for any interested parties.
Been working this area since 1975 in various bands mostly playing Country/Country Rock and classic rock. Hard to meet musicians when you gig all the time.

I live in Hopkins. I play in two bands - Oceans and NemoJoe. I play Ampeg gear and a Schecter fretless and a Traben. Both 5 string. I see the list of folks from MN on here is growing quite a bit. That is surprising to see. (and nice!) Seems we're actually starting to get some kind of thaw around here weather-wise...let's hope it's a continuing trend! Now I'll have to keep an eye on this so I can try to attend this low-end gathering!
