I've owned and sold more basses than I can possibly remember over the years. I really only regret selling one of them, an early-80s Tokai P-bass. Plyed a hundred gigs with that thing.
I did have to sell all my pre-CBS Fender Ps and Js back in the mid-90s, but the only thing I regret about that is that I could have sold them for so much more if I had waited.

I always regretted selling my first "real" bass, a 1976 Fender Precision. But a few years ago I came across a 1972 Fender Precision in amazing shape (and price). It's a better bass than the '76. Sometimes things work out in the end.
Just not worth selling the Yamaha. Too old & beat up. Would take a real yammie joneser to give much for it -- anyways too many memories, too much learned on that bass to let go of. Forget it, I'll just have to pick up some more hours = $$
Yes, of the basses I sold I miss the most are my '74 Gibson EB-0 (first real bass), my '74 P Bass, and my two matching Fender Performers.
