Mix HB & SC.....Help Please

CaN someone please answer a question for me? Can I install a Seymour Duncan SSB-4 bridge pup , with a Fender Jazz SC neck? Has anyone done this? Can it be done? I can see where this has been tried out. I would like do a 3 way switch , neck vol, bridge vol, master vol? Is this possible, anyone might know what it would sound like? Really appreciate any input anyone can throw this way, thanks people. C.C.

Yep, no problem. It's just like wiring any other two-pickup instrument. The fact that one is a HB and one is a SC doesn't limit your options one bit. Anybody who tells you otherwise is misinformed.

Ya I have a bass build going and my client wants this configuration and looking all over I could not run across this configuration anywhere and I'm talking anywhere. Because wire colors are not standard, when mixing pickups from two different manufacturers you may discover that they're wired out of phase. If so, you can flip the hot and ground leads of one of them. In this case, since the SSB is three wire, with a separate shield ground wire, I would flip the black and white wires of the SSB, leaving the bare wire connected to ground for shielding.

Hey Todd thank you , yes its a beauty . It's a solid black Walnut on piece body that came from 3'x 5' old growth slab and this was the only solid piece that that came out of it. I really appreciate you sharing your wisdom on the wiring configuration , I'm a wood guy not so much the pup and wiring expert, so anything down the pike will be absord and retained
