Mixing a 4 ohm and 8 ohm one amplifier, how to do it ?

here's a crazy idea, but it just might work...take a feed from a pre out or even a tape monitor out and send it to an outboard amp like this one: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

hook the 8 ohm speakers up to the receiver, and the 4 ohm speakers up to the outboard amp.

thanks for the reply, then If I would like to use all of them I need probably to change the amplifier right ?
For the Pioneer speakers, they are the best speakers you can hear. I have many speakers, and the hpm-100 are always my preferred speakers.

Lose the Minipods and get another set of HPM-100s? Not sure I could live with those Minipods but they do have a unique look...

Yes the Minipods has an original look, these is why I wanted to keep them and they also gives a really good sound.
getting another set of HPM-100, my wife will ask for divorce :).

Not a crazy idea AT ALL. This is a normal wonderful idea. go pre amp out if you want to control volume for all at the receiver, tape out to have separate volume controls for the 2 zones.
on a crazy low budget? no need for a loud zone 2? $22 and you're done https://www.amazon.com/Lepy-Amplifi...UTF8&qid=1541519634&sr=1-8&keywords=amplifier

My understanding to this is that the only solution to get 8ohms is to connect both minipods in series to one receiver output.

Now let's speak about the power of the amplifier. The amplifier output is 2 x 100 watts.
so if selecting A or B option and connecting only 2 speakers, each speaker will get 100 watts, right ?
if selecting A and B, and connecting let's say 4 speakers of 8 ohms, each speaker will get 50 watts ? or 100 watts ?

Stop thinking about watts. it doesn't matter what amp says about watts. the receiver has TWO amps. a left amp and a right amp. the speaker a and b buttons usually don't do anything clever, they just combine the A & B in parallel.
Any number after the words "watts" on a receiver or on speakers are pretty much always useless garbage / sales gimmicks. You can wire your pairs together in series, one big one and one little one together on each side, this way the little speakers will be receiving twice as power. (don't do this) you can buy another amp, or you can get an impedance matching volume control of some kind. I say go with an additional amp, or use another pair of 8 ohm speakers rather than the white ones.

okay now it gets complicated. let's forget about the Minipods, I will prefer to have only one amp.
I also have 2 philips soundsphere that I did remove the integrated amp and made them passive speakers.
both speakers are 8ohms with 50 watts power.
what's the best solution to connect them to the current amp and HPM-100 speakers. ?
