Unfortunatelly all these discussions make blind for fundamental consideration that even same speaker size may cause same issues like mixing of 10" with 12" or 10" with 15", or 12" with 15".
Reading all the posts carefully enough I have the impression that lot of folks assume issues due to different speaker size rather then different cab design.

That reads like it's best to have same size, but not so good to have some deviation like 10" versus 12" and bad to have a pairing of 10" and 15". And it makes me really not wondering this statement is not commented by no one.
There are some older threads on TB where OP ask for power distribution on different cabs loaded with same driver size but, nobody speaks any warning that there may be issues with different cabs. Obviosly the TB mass does not have sufficiant imagination about reasons why the mixing of different cabs may cause issues.
It's right that the mixing of different cabs may cause issues but, different cabs in this context includes different cabs loaded with same driver size as well. There isn't such a thing like "try to get as close as possible" based on pure number of driver size. There wasn't so in the past, it is untrue at present and it will be untrue in the future.
It's a myth that keeping same driver size improves the chance to have a good matched stack.
The chance to have issues with same driver size is just as big as on a mixed driver size stack.
Unfortunatelly TB is hard focused on issues with different driver size and therefore totally ignores just same issues with matched driver size.
If I would read all the countless threads at TB around warnings of mixing driver size I myself (if I was a noob) could get to an conclusion that a 10" hornloaded would match to a 10" sealed.
That's IMO the big problem at TB.
