I agree with you again. I haven't taken this to any other online forum, I only posted here primarily to get feed back more than to be bitching about it. I figured others here may have had better or similar experiences to mine and I really wanted wanted feedback about how to proceed and I'm more than happy to post that it's been resolved to all parties satisfaction if that can happen. And I'd rather have that be the outcome.

MJT NBD and total disappointment

okay according to another member he had the proper holes for the pickups to the volume tone/cavity as well as the hole drilled for the grounding wire on both of his builds. The only holes he needed to drill were the bridge, pickguard and strap holders.
Admittedly today has been a terrible day for other reasons that have to do with work so I'm trying to keep my cool about this but this is a 1/2 year, $440 dollar F&CK up and I'm just over it.

If it's any consolation - today is a Supermoon. You may or may not subscribe to how astrological occurrences have affect on us - but I would (theoretically) trade places with you no matter what is happening with my (last) Saturday. (two days ago) As long as no one died - consider yourself lucky it wasn't worse.
I totally subscribe to that crazy sh*t, today I got suddenly told I needed to go out on medical leave and if I couldn't find another suitable equivalent job or demotion they would start a medical separation. I just wanted to be moved to a different department and this was unexpected and then the bass was all screwed up. So yeah,

I'm drafting an email to them now. It's my understanding from a few other members that they drill the holes for the wires just not the pickguard and bridge. I really don't relish having to spend $100 in shipping after all is said and done on this order that keeps being goofed up.

I just shipped a body and neck (2 separate boxes) USPS for about $45.75 this morning. Where are you shipping from/to that costs $100?
Sorry for the confusion - it's not $100 each time it's that I've had to pay for shipping each time. Their shipping is reasonable at $20 but I had to pay to have it sent back the first time, and then pay to have the 2nd attempt shipped back to me. And now with this issue I may be sending it back on my dime and then again to have it shipped back to me once again. That will be a total of 5x I will have had to pay for $20 shipping.
I just sent them an email detailing my frustrations overall including the shipping issue on top of it all. But I want to commend their customer service and the person who has been handling my order for being responsive and quick to answer my questions. I'm not interested in getting anyone in trouble or being a jerk. I'm just feeling very put off and wishing I had ordered with someone else.

As I said in an earlier post - you need to express this in a personal (relaxed manor) phone-call and make it clear when they are responsible for shipping (or whatever) -
I agree. I can't find a phone number which is why I drafted an email with my phone number in it and asked for help resolving this issue. I might vent my spleen a bit here but I truly value good customer service and part of getting it is not being a 'Karen', and being clear about what the exact problem is.

That is quite disappointing. The whole episode seems to be a bit of a disaster and I hope it can be put right. I certainly don't think that this neck fit looks suitable. I don't think you should have to make a bodge job on a new bass like this.
The issue of the colour is far more subjective. I think getting something in the same ballpark as what you ask for or had in mind is an acceptable outcome when there are so many variables involved. Everything from your sample image, to your monitor, to their monitor, to their paint mix and finish, to the light you view it in etc etc.
So Matt has responded to my email and is sending me a UPS slip to have it shipped back and drilled properly. I did let him know that the initial build had the ground wire hole drilled but not the pickup hole and this isn't just a one off from his supplier. I'm hoping that can be straightened out with Wildwood Manufacturing. However what this does mean is that their QC missed this twice now. I just recommend if you all place an order with them to make sure they double check this before it gets sent out to you.
MJT just acquired USACG (USA Custom Guitars) a few weeks ago, and they are moving neck and body making operations from CA to Missouri, where MJT is based out of. So I’m pretty sure they won’t be using Wildwood for their supplier anymore in the near future.
That's interesting! Thanks. I imagine that might speed orders up a little bit. I'm not adverse to using them again especially if they can get this straightened out. They are less expensive than Warmoth and also still do Nitro finishes so that was my initial reason for going with them.

As far as the finish being lacquer, nitro can be fixed (chipped edges) much more seamlessly than poly - so they should just fix yours.
Disappointing, I’m sorry. How’s the finish? If you’re happy with I’d ask for a $30 comp to take it to a luthier
I posted too hastily. I went back to double check it and the routing cavity had been touched up so the paint was covering the small hole. So never mind. Thank god. This has really been a headache. I'm pleased to say it actually was done.
Since I'm home for the quarantine I'm going to try to put the bass together tomorrow. Hopefully it will come together and I can post an update.
