I can't stand it any longer. We need the hot stove league to start, and the annual proclamation of a Mariners World Championship just can't wait.

There is speculation to do and besides, it is November. About three months from now, pitchers and catchers will report.

Jerry Dipoto hasn't let on what the Mariners will do, but he has hinted that they will be spending some money. Maybe they won't be the Browns of baseball for a change.

There are more rumors and speculations about what the Mariners might or might not do this off-season than I can remember in recent times. So that is good, or maybe they will revert to mean. That would be bad.

And because I completely forgot to do this. The official prediction is that the Mariners will win in seven, roof open, bottom of the ninth, on a game winner by Evan White.

There is a whole lot of speculation going on about who the Mariners might pursue. How long before free agents start getting signed?

Berrios was a very nice addition to the Jays' rotation this summer. They've locked him up for a while. I wonder what this means for the potential to keep Robbie Ray...

Also it looks like Syndergaard is leaving the Mets -- Angels To Sign Noah Syndergaard

All the speculation around the Mariners hasn't led to anything yet. They have added a few coaches. That's all so far. They have a well stocked pipeline for now. I don't think they can just rely on prospects who aren't proven in 2022. I'm impatient!

Everyone is confident the Rockies will sit tight, sign a couple of moderate cost players, and cruise along in mediocrity (which will be their ceiling) in 2022.

Robbie Ray had quite the year! The dude always had potential, but never quite put it all together. He was incredible for the Jays this summer. He should be headed for a nice payday in free agency this winter.

Ms need to make some big moves this off-season. If they take something like their current roster into 2022 they're not gonna make the playoffs. They have POTENTIAL superstars in their system but can't count on that for 2022 at all. Sign Semien. Trade for some As pitchers. Maybe even trade for Jose Ramirez. We saw the price of waiting this last season. They missed a huge opportunity in 2021. Gotta swing for the fences this offseason

And since I agree with you completely about what the Mariners need to do for 2022, I will be bouncing off the wall anticipating Trader Jerry's delayed moves.

Well, I hope everyone else has a good 2022 season. I foresee my Cards having a long stretch of being WAY below Cards standards. At least until the problems in the front office are removed.

They have an owner who is probably the least rich owner in MLB. He has a great stadium that is a super place to spend a warm, low humidity summer afternoon in Colorado. He is ridiculously loyal to his top staff and hates to make changes. He also has somewhat limited pockets.

He and his GM tend to fill player slots with older free agents and guys who have been good earlier in their careers. Most of their free agents have never played at altitude for long and the vast majority of them don't play well in Denver.

People keep coming to Rockies games for the atmosphere, not for winning. It's going to take a fall-off in attendance for him to make changes. So far, he hasn't. And as long as there are butts in seats and the $8 beers and expensive foods keep selling, he doesn't need to change.
