MLB 2022

Pujols gave him the bat, it seemed to be the same specs, so he used it. They realized the next day Pujols was using a grandfathered bat because of a micro change, and something that even happened over a decade ago. I believe that is the whole story. Cue pearl clutching and over reacting, witch hunt to follow shortly.

Well THAT was fun. Tied for homers in a WS game, and set a new record for runs scored with no one in scoring position.

And all of a sudden, the biggest underdogs in the playoffs are 2 wins away. I think the Astros learned what the Padres and Braves found out. Citizen's Bank Park in the playoffs is a totally different animal.

Like I said…

Smolts was thinking that Houston's pitcher was tipping, which would explain that home run derby.
Yeah they weren't guessing. I couldn't pick up on anything but you'd better believe the Phillies did. Harper called Bohm over for one reason. Coy answers in the post-game interview were pretty funny. Postseason baseball subterfuge!

I just heard on the radio that there's this guy that owns a bunch of furniture stores in Texas and goes by "Mattress Mack". He supposedly bet 10 million on the Astros to win the WS at 7.5 to 1 odds. 75 million if the Astros win. I hope he loses the 10.

True. Placed the bet at the beginning of the season. He's done much the same the past few years. He uses it as a promotion for his furniture store throughout baseball season; the deal is that you spend $3K or more on a mattress set/bedroom furniture, then if the Astros win it all you get double your money back. This deal was in place all the way up until the playoffs started. Once the playoffs started, he was still running it but you only got your purchase amount back, not double.

He's got 3 locations in the Houston area, been in business about 40 years. Really good dude, does tons of stuff for the community.

Sorry, I don't get this. Hate the Astros if you want, but the dude is entitled to root for his team. Do we hate all Giant fans because of Bonds? Do we still hate all White Sox fans because of 1919?
