And the underdogs prevail again. I think teams that had a 5 or more run lead were something like 589-18 in the postseason. Well 589-19 after tonight.

Phillies are just a scrappy team that doesn't quit. On paper Astros are probably the better team, but the Phillies are going to give them a run for their money. A lot
of people saying they shouldn't have even gotten in and wouldn't if it wasn't for their record, however they are much better than their record reflects. They finished the season 87-75 after starting 22-29, meaning they weren't 65-46 after Girardi was fired, good for a .586 winning %. You take that and multiply it by 162, they're a 94 win team. That's better than the Cardinals and 4 of the AL teams.

They took one in Houston, and with Wheeler going tomorrow it's very likely this thing goes back to Philly with Houston being down 2-0. Both teams exhausted most of their pen today, so I think tomorrow is gonna come down to which starter lasts longer.

Extra inning baseball in game one of the WS with the underdogs pulling it out. What more can you ask for?

Sometimes even the best players go through slumps at tough times. Ted Williams was in one world series (back before there was a "post season"). He went 5 for 25, with no RBIs. Possibly the greatest hitter in the history of the game.

I forgot about the part in the rulebook where it says minor discrepancies are ok as long as most people wouldn't be able to tell.

Legit question because you're an expert and I'm honestly curious. Is there much of a weight difference, over-all between them? I imagine there was a lot of discussion over the change especially since Baseball, more than any other American sport, hearkens to it's past and is mindful of it. I can't imagine there being a measurable performance difference between the two.

As we know from bass bodies, the weight of wood varies. I can pick the right piece to achieve the weight I want, regardless of barrel size. Most amateurs want a -3 (33 inch bat at 30 ounces). Mos pros seem to favor a -2.

@sleddogn Granfathering is common in sports. Off the top of my head, the following rule changes were grandfathered: elimination of spitball, permitting a player to wear 42, requiring a helmet in hockey.
