Thank you. Today they play to pull to .500 and even with the Astros for about the first time since I can't remember when.

The Mariners took a series from the Astros. It is a start. Julio isn't hitting yet this season, either. He will start. And Hernandez hasn't gone on a wild hitting streak yet, either. Kelenic is cooling off. I sure hope he doesn't go ice cold. Trammell was impossible to get out in triple A ball recently and has has a bit of a cold start. He seems to be adjusting now. He is over the Mendoza line for the first time in a long while. All point to success in a bit when it all clicks together. I have lots of high expectations.

The Angels and Rangers have to fall apart pretty soon, don't they? Looking at the AL East, winning the division could be the only ticket to the playoffs this season. Jeez.

I just looked at stats. Taylor Trammell's batting average is almost identical to Julio Rodriguez's for now. That would be great if both were 50 to 80 points higher.

Mets got Diaz, best reliever in the game, although he's now out for the season.Mets had to deal with Cano and his contract $$

Mariners got Kellenic, who I think will be very good. Also got some pitching help.

Mariners got Kellenic, who I think will be very good. Also got some pitching help.

Last season? The Mets. This season? The Mariners as long as Kelenic keeps hitting. Diaz wouldn't be much of a closer without a lead to protect, and without hitting, that is a problem. With a few exceptions like Ichiro, the Mariners have historically been a light hitting team in the new stadium.

Orioles just took 2 of 3 against the Rays, so I'm going with Baltimore.

Going to a couple Stros vs Cubs games next week with my daughter. Super excited. Grew up a Braves fan so ya know I love Dusty. Plus you can’t go to Atlanta easily from Austin. And we go the minor league affiliate here so we’ve gotten to meet a lot of players on the way up or down. Super excited. Minute Maid is a great stadium.

The Mariners are off today. They are striking out too much. Rodriguez is just missing. That will change, I hope. So will the strikeouts. They seem to be having a team-wide slump. It's killing me! Detroit tomorrow. The Tigers are pretty good so far this year.

The Cards are finally showing some signs of life; A week ago they would have blown another lead but last night they came from one down in the top of the ninth to give Kenley Jansen one of his worst performances. In over 700 appearances in his career he's only left a game without an out to his credit 5 times.

The Mariners' farm strikes again. Kelenic is doing well and Brice Miller was mostly unhittable. Julio is still shuffling, but you know that will change. And for the first time since opening day, they are above .500. I am happy for now. Joy soon to be dashed by the baseball gods, who exist to inflict exquisite angst.
