And we go the minor league affiliate here so we’ve gotten to meet a lot of players on the way up or down. Super excited. Minute Maid is a great stadium.

Didn't matter! Mariners turned it around when the Braves forgot how to baseball in the third, and pulled off a nice win.

More importantly my Cards took the series against the Doyers in a highly eventful series. SIX three-run home runs in three games; twelve home runs in total. This season just might not be a complete loss already.

Our $10M pitcher has only pitched 6+ innings in 5 of his 10 starts. And only one of those was more than 6. We needed to rest the bullpen today, but Burnes could only go 5. I hope he gets hot before the deadline so we can get a good return for him. There's no way he's a Brewer next season.

Thank goodness for the Oakland Athletics. The Mariners needed to feast on somebody, and they sure did last night. A little game-time batting practice might even get Julio back on track. He had a good night last night, as did Kelenic. Good thing the Mariners didn't give up on that guy. I was ready to. Shows what I know.

And more thankfulness for the A's. They are truly an awful baseball team. Julio needed batting practice, and he got it. I hope the resurgence in his hitting isn't a flash in the pan. He's up above .220 after four games. He was pretty well below .210 before the A's came along to help him out. They also helped the Mariners make up an eyelash of ground, too. Two games over .500 now. Here comes the juggernaut that will roll into the World Series. After a few more detours into pure agony, of course. It's the nature of baseball.

The Rockies are defying the baseball gods. They're only 1/2 game back of San Diego and playing pretty darn well. They're still under .500 and probably will stay there, but they're 15-14 at home (above .500 there, which is newsworthy) and are 5 and 5 in their last 10 games.

All in all, to this date (note careful qualifier) they're not the dumpster fire they were predicted to be. Wish I could watch a few games - which I can't. With the upset in regional sports networks, there is absolutely ZERO TV coverage of the Rockies available in Denver. Not a single game. I suppose the MLB channel may pick up one of their games by mistake, but I'm not betting on it.

Of course, that's par for the course in the Denver market, where Stan Kronke's ongoing feud with Comcast has kept both the Nuggets and the Avalanche off Comcast since 2019. Now of course the Nuggets can be seen on national TV since they've made it to the finals for the first time in 47 years!

The more splintered the rights become with TV coverage down and streaming increasingly being split into smaller and smaller packages, it's not a great year for watching a lot of teams.

The SFGiants had a very rough start this year but they have been playing much better for the last month. They are 7 and 3 in their last ten games and it is exciting to see young players energizing the team. Patrick Bailey looks like the real deal behind the plate, if I was Joey Bart I would be worried. Casey Schmidt looks like an all star caliber infielder. He is a natural third baseman but he has been looking good at shortstop.
Brandon Crawford has been one of the greatest shortstops in the history of the Giants but he is nearing the end of his career. It is great to see how Crawford has taken Schmidt under his wing. He does his best to help the young players even when they are taking his place on the field. A very classy guy, I already miss him and he is not gone yet. :(
The pitching has turned around and the bullpen is now one of the best in the majors. The bats have also woken up getting timely hits and balls are also flying out of stadiums like they have grown wings.
It will be and exciting season if the team keeps this up.

Somehow when I read this I hear Lou Brown's voice. All you need to add is "We have some potential All-Stars on this team."
