MLB 2025

A walk-off in Game 7 would be a Brewer walk-off, so I'm good with that. I'm not sure if I can take the stress leading up to it, though.
Well, you will be disappointed if you live that long. But you won't. Neither of us will. The stress will make us dead and blind and probably a few more things that will make it impossible to enjoy baseball any more. The only people who will survive long enough to enjoy it will be Yankees fans, since they are used to it. Another reason to hate the Yankees.

Today's starting pitcher match-ups according to MLB.com.

I think all these guys are going to be on short leashes today! Not a lot of really great pitchers in the mix here. It's sad to see how poorly Yu Darvish has pitched this year. But he's 38 years old and been around a long time now. His starts were appointment viewing during his years with Texas. So good.

Boston and New York both have rookies taking the hill. Combined they've made less than 20 big league starts. Early is 23 years old and Schlittler is 24. Can't help but wonder if the lights will be just a little too bright for them in the postseason. It will be a great learning experience for them regardless of the results. It will be a great story if one of them pitches well and factors into a long postseason run for their team.
I can root for a kid named Early. Schlittler? Not so much. And he's a Yankee. That makes it even worse.

Schlittler had a start against Toronto a few weeks ago and Buck Martinez on the Jays’ broadcast was struggling with his name at times. He missed the first L sound a few times and it was pretty amusing hearing him call the kid Schittler on live TV 😂

And I hate the Cards. This is how it should be.

I'm in Boston, and I've been hearing our newscasters on the TV and radio screw that name up ALL DAY LONG today.

I've heard everything. And even now, during the broadcast of the game, you can hear the announcers hesitate juuuuust slightly before they say "Schlittler." Like they're making sure they have their tongue under control before they screw up bigly.

OK, that's pretty good. My only quibbles are: 1. The Cubs have only won one title in the past 100+ years, the Sawx (and the Giants) have three! Plus the Mariners have been around for a relatively short 48 years. 2. The Padres have Machado, so boooooo!
And I knew there’s a reason I like you (in addition to your excellent taste in music). Machado is…well I don’t want to be banned.

I only caught the middle innings. The Cubs have great defense up the middle. Hoerner and Swanson are quite the infield duo. And PCA is no slouch in CF either! Above average defense can really be a boon in the postseason. Bummer to see the Pads exit this early. However, Cubs @ Brewers is going to be an exciting NLDS matchup!
Not a bummer to see the Padres gone. Almost makes up for the freaking Yankees likely advancing. Go Jays!
