MLB 2025

The Fall Classic begins tonight! :hyper:

I am feeling irrationally confident about the Blue Jays. The Dodgers obviously have the superstar roster and they are the favourite to win the series. But I don’t exactly see this as a David vs. Goliath sort of match up. The Jays have been proving people wrong all summer long. Best record in the AL. Beat the Yankees. Beat the M’s despite going down 0-2 to start the series. They can win 4 of 7 against LA, even if the odds don’t favour them. It won’t be easy but they are capable. The lineup will need to keep performing well and do damage against LA’s starters. The Jays’ pitching will also need to find a way to limit the Dodgers’ power bats. I can totally see Ohtani and Teoscar hitting some monster home runs in the Dome 😬 Here’s hoping it happens with the bases empty!

I am very curious to see how Toronto works Bo Bichette back into things. He’s on the roster and he was a huge part of their regular season success. But he’s been out all postseason. If they play him at SS or 2B, their infield defense takes a hit. If they DH him then they have to put Springer in the OF and the OF defense takes a hit. And we don’t really know if Bo is game-ready to have good at bats against the Dodger pitching. It’s a really tough question. I want to see him out there playing, especially considering he may leave this winter in free agency… but I also don’t want his return to mess with the good thing the Jays have going on.
Perhaps the Jays should intentionally walk Ohtani to start the game?;)

I know some guys who can take care of Ohtani! Go Jays!

Dodgers in 5 or 6 are going to be popular picks for sure. It makes sense and I won’t be shocked if it happens. They have a stacked team. I am a big believer in this Jays team though.
Springer being Springer this fall could do it. Without Springer, the Jays would not have beat the Mariners. With Springer, they most certainly did. Dammit!
