Here is my situation I have a MM bass with a sadowsky preamp which I like. I'm not liking the pickups though. I've thought about sadowsky HC pickups or Dimarzio Model J's. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you're talking about a Marcus Miller and not a Musicman.
Personally MM always means Musicman to me and always will. It's always confusing when someone assumes otherwise. At least for me. Way more Musicmans out there than Marcus Millers... in my opinion.

Yup, that's how I always look at it. or S/H/MM even.
To complicate it further, I looked at the OP's profile and he has both a Musicman and a Marcus Miller listed. I almost confused myself at that point.
I believe that Sadowsky's proprietary humcancelling jazz pickups are modeled after the Ultra Jazz pickups by DiMarzio. Nordstrand also has a few different models of jazz pickups or you can just order Sadowsky jazz bass pickups.
