MM Stingray 4 Vs Spector Euro LX Line level?

Hi Everyone,
I'm using two basses a 1996 MM Anniversary Stingray and an early 00s Spector Czech/Euro 4LX and I'm finding my Spector to be considerably hotter and louder than my MMSR. I have to make big adjustments to gain levels and eq when changing basses. Has anyone else found their Spector 4LX to be a louder instrument compared to other basses? More importantly I'm actually more concerned that there may be a deficiency with the Stingray's level. Both are 9 volt preamps (both have new batteries). Anyone have any similar experiences with these issues?

You are right, the Spector Euro is way hotter in output. That's because not only is the preamp active, but the pickups are active as well.

The StingRay is only active in the preamp. The pickup is passive like most 'active' basses.

When I used to play both of these at the same time. I always plugged the Spectors in the padded input on my amp. I still only use the normal input on my amp with my StingRays. That way I don't have to change any levels, I just swap and go.

if ur spector has a gain adjuster in the preamp just tune it to how hot the stingray is

From the three I had, the Euros with the EMG preamp/EMG pickup combo didn't have any trimming pots.

I have a new rebob 4 and it has a very high output. It runs on a 9v battery, but I'm told the electronics step it up to 18v in the preamp. If true, that might explain it. I have no knowledge about pup differences v MM.
Padded inputs on the amp are a big help.
