Modding MIM Precision

Anyone got a clue to the colour?

I'm gonna go with teal green metallic or maybe sage metallic, but I think teal is more likely as the OP says it's sometimes blue/grey. Teal as a colour has definite chameleon properties. Pics of my old teal Sting5 in different lights

Ezbass... you may have it! Although it doesn't look like the chart colour at all. I love the colour whatever it is. Cheers.

Yeah it doesn't reproduce very well on RBG screens so it never looks right, along with a great many other colours, the MIM 50's P Bass reissue in Fiesta Red looks red on the PC but is very definitely salmon coloured in the flesh. Nice mods BTW.

Another cheap and simple upgrade to consider -- I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet -- is the nut. Sooner or later the plastic nut on the MIM will break. I replaced mine with a Graph-Tech tusq nut, and it was a much easier job than I'd expected.

Cheers... yes, the colour is weird... sometimes it looks green, sometimes blue/grey... can't find it on the Fender colour chart. It's got a faint sparkle to it.

did you find out what color it is?
it looks like it could be sage or agave. the agave is not as blue as it looks in the color chart. it's more of a blue green silver.

did the screw holes for the wilkinsons line up with the existing holes? and did the tuner bushings fit in the pegholes? my mim's bushings are
slightly larger than the mia's 11/16" (17mm) bushings.

Hello hypercarrots... I'm leaning on teal green metallic for the colour.

I had to drill out new screw holes for the machines as the backplate is bigger but I retained the original bushes... they were exactly the same diameter.

I'm very pleased with these although a I might go for some vintage fender types when I've more mons.
