Modifying a combo amp? (specifically an Ashdown)

I'm about to buy an Ashdown 12-180 Combo amp and I was wondering if it's going to be difficult to change the 12' speaker and add a tweeter? I know it's easy to change speakers on guitar combos because some of them aren't completely sealed, but what would I be able to do? If I really wanted to change the speaker, would I have to open up the enclosure copletely? :hmm:

You just can't put any speaker in any cab!!! There is more to specing a speaker than the diameter. The specs need to match the cab dimension. I am in no way an expert at this but I put a Delta LF in a tech soundsystems cab and that was a bad match. There are people on this site who really know about matching speaker specs to cab dimensions. Search the forum for bass players who are familiar with WinISD or the Eminence speaker software and ask if they would help you spec out the right speaker

I'm aware of that. But the only thing you really need to worry about fitting in the speaker is the depth?

And what about adding a tweeter? Does anyone with any electronics knowledge know what I have to look out for if I want to add a tweeter?
