Modulus Mob

I am buying the bass anyways, but wonder what you guys make of this Aguilar pre setup?

Owner says "three band Aguilar with a mid-boost switch"
I like the bass and have worked out a deal with the seller, but I don't get the pre setup. Was a dp switch usually inside the electronics cavity brought out to one of the existing tone control holes in the top and the remaining tone controls stacked to make room?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Probably just the mid frequency switch on an obp-3.

Like pickles said, it is probably just the mid center frequency switch, and then two of the other knobs are stacked. The obp-3 is a versatile pre. I have no personal experience with it, but I have an obp-2 in my Forte' 5 and a TH500 amp, and I have been very happy with both.

Enjoy it!

Hey there Mob kids... Check out this bass.. This was posted in 2008. The owner calls it a 1985 Modulus Quantum 6 string. Neck thru. Headstock is pointy like my Bassstar 5'er.. Never seen another one like this.. (Kind of a 6 string version of my 5 string).. Anyone know anything about this creature??

I'd guess prototype or custom job.

The string spacing almost looks like they crammed 6 strings onto a 5er width neck.
This is exactly what I thought. My Avitar is of my very early 5 string Bassstar. I spoke to Geoff a bit about it. He says it is a early Quantum 5 string on a 4 string body/neck. I have never seen another 5'er like mine. This 6'er looks very similar to mine, but 5/6 conversion instead of 4/5. Super cool, bad bridge on that sucker though. Looks like they had a bad time with a really bowed neck and had to sink the bridge into the body to get worked out.

It's an early TBX6 just like mine.

Three Barts. VERY NARROW neck. It's like a 6 built on a 5. Forget slapping! Active. 35" scale. Neck-thru. Is not a Q6 (which is not neck-thru and has wider spacing. )

Originally the three switches turned each pickup on or off (Neck, sweetspot and bridge) Mine is modded so you can select series, parallel or off with each pickup.

This is by FAR the best sounding bass I own. (also have a Q6)

The bass in photo looks like it may be passive (vol, tone, 3 pickup switches... Mine: vol, bass, treble, + 3 switches) Also what is that bridge? Looks like it may take a whammy bar!

BTW, My most used settings are sweetspot pickup only, and neck + bridge in series. Wood on mine is darker but photo doesn't show it well.

Mid-80s Modulus catalogs (such as they were) often featured a picture of that exact Quantum 6-string, w the three Bart's and three on/off toggle switches. It's not a "TBX", just a Quantum-6.
