They both have VJ necks, since those are easier to find, but yeah. They pretty much play like Fenders. Passive electronics and all...they're like Fenders for a new millennium!

Of course I know how to spell Geoff's name. I was referring to the $8000 Bassstar add that Fred312b posted. Not only is the guy looking for $8K for a neck thru 4 string Bassstar, he spelled Geoff, Jeff. Since most of us here are the seekers of Modulus' out there, I thought it was funny
Hey guys, A little off topic but I'm a new TB'er (long time lurker) and I have a Flea 5 black sparkle with an original Lane Poor. Figured I'd introduce myself to the other Modulus players.

Admittedly, I completely forgot to mention my Genesis 5 I have staying with a friend in Kansas for the past two years. I'll have him take some of that one so I post them as well.

I agree, the Babicz is probably the worst offender to my eye, but frankly that Modulus logo at the neck/body joint that they've been sporting since the early 90s always drove me insane! Totally distracts from the potential beauty of the instruments imho. Mercifully my Modulus was from just before they introduced the Integrated Neck Joint so it only has a logo on the headstock, but if I had a new bass with that lettering on the front above the neck pickup I would definitely cover it with black gaffers tape or fill it in with a black Sharpie marker.

i have a few builds in various states of flux but this one has me the most enthused.
i picked up a b-quad 5 a couple years ago that was in disrepair. the only thing that mattered to me was the condition of the modulus neck. luckily it was good to go.
never been a fan of the balance of the b-quad body. doesn't sit on me very well. but a modulus quantum body balances on me perfectly.
so am having the neck married to a body based on a modulus q5.
the heel on the neck is a bit small (the part of the neck that marries to the body joint) so needed to have the upper horn shaved back (inspiration there was a warmoth gecko 5 body).
when all is said and done, it'll have bart dual coils married to an aggie obp-3. black hardware.
the top is cocobolo.

WHERE CAN THIS BE FIXED? My '92 5-string TTB neck is bowed and getting worse. I LOVE this thing but it's getting to the point I need to get something new.
I'd rather have this fixed. Please point me in the right direction.

There is a Modulus Specialist in Kenosha, WI right near where I live. I can say with 100% certainty that he is the best for the job. I have run across Jerry's work. Tim Conally is better. I will also put this out there, Tim has done all 14 of my Modulus/Geoff Gould basses and guitars. He has also working on all 11 of my guitar players guitars and basses. He has the ability and experience. I will refrain from adding my personal feelings towards GGS, but I can say that I would never send my gear there. Twice was enough
My favorite color on most any bass. That F hole just adds to the wow factor. Beautiful indeed. TBX would just make it stunning beyond all
