I don't care for the wide spacing either. My favorite Modulus is my Bassstar. It is a 34" scale 5 string with 15.5 mm string spacing. Just about perfect!

Maybe you guys can help me out. You seem to be more up on current hardware than I am. Last year, we made 6-string on the GGi5 neck for Andy West. You've probably seen that. I'm making myself one right now. I got ABM to make me some bridges years ago, but they can no longer make anymore. The 24th fret is 3.0" wide. ABM sent me 6 of the individual bridges, but it looks like I'd have to mill off the sides a bit to fit. Ibanez makes a narrow 6-string, I think a Gerald Veasly model, and parts can be ordered from Ibanez. Do you guys know of any manufacturers that make a bridge I could use?

That's Modulus. The only bass out of the fleet that I never have to retune regardless of temperature, humidity, inactivity. My EBMM SR5 on the other hand, although a great bass, needs slight adjustment most every time.Man just came here to say, despite my weather and humidity shifting like crazy over the past few weeks, I have yet to have to tune my bass or adjust it since about them middle of may. INSANE

yup, 34". not in the market for one but that color just grabbed me so thought i'd message the seller (a favorite hangout of mine whenever i found myself in reno, nv.)Just ran across a rather interesting older specimen at a good price on Reverb. Is that a 34" scale with 26 frets?

Kahler makes a bridge that does 14mm string spacing. Not sure if that will solve your problems but here is a link:

does anyone here have an early model with the extended neck joint? the neck taper starts around the 15th-16th fret. just curious on the feel of the back of the neck when it flattens out past the 15th-16th fret.
My 94 Q5 I set up when I bought it new.I've never setup any of my Q5's, though the one I bought used a few months ago has ridiculously low action so I might raise it a bit.
But my main Q5 that I bought well over 20 years ago is as it was when I bought it new from a music store.
My second Q5 that I got off of eBay plays well and doesn't need a setup, had it for somewhere around 15 years.
how often do you guys give your Q5s a set up or tune up?
I feel like its been a while but everything still seems fine necks good string heights good, maybe its gotten even lower as my strings have aged
not sure if its worth the time but I guess it couldn't hurt
"Modulus Privilege"I don’t do any of that stuff
Too much time IMO
