Modulus Mob

When I wired up an Aguilar OBP-3 in 18v I thought the boost/cut was too extreme. Rewiring to 9v solved the problem and I really like the preamp now. Mid is set at 400hz. Active passive switch revealed a true bypass to my ears.
Hmm, I didn't try that. Something to consider. I liked the eq points when I had a Tone Hammer amp years ago, so taming the boost and cut would probably help.

Hey Mob,

Need some help tracking down an old Q5 I used to own. It’s a ‘96 model with EMG pups and guts, black hardware, 17mm spacing, and one of the most non conspicuous tops I’ve ever seen on one.

I sold it to a guy named Denton in November of 2016 and have been trying to reconnect with the guy to at least inform him that if he ever decides to sell it that I’d like the opportunity to rebuy it.

Here’s a link to a post I made. If you have any leads then I’d be eager to hear them. Thank you.

Freaked me out for a second because I have the same chip in the neck in one of my Q5s that is a dead ringer for yours. Mine though it's a sweet spot turbo, and have had for quite a while.

Hey all,
Looking to add some pedals to my game, and have an outdoor gig next weekend.
Just looking for recs on a nice bass compressor pedal to start...
In the end, just need 2-3 simple pedals, ha ha.

Any good recommendations?

Love to order one today!!

I use a TC Electronic Spectra Drive. Has lots of nice features: line driver, aux in and headphone out for practicing, direct out, compression and a dirt channel and eq. It's more than a stand alone compressor. If you're looking for just compression there's the TC Spectra Comp and I hear good things about whatever keeley offers.

Hey mob, I’m interested in picking up a Q6. So there seem to be a few variations: Bart vs EMG, 2 pickups sweet spot, truss rod vs none. Can anyone describe the differences?

Im looking for a powerful sound, but with a nice punchy focus on low mids. I like supportive, but I Also want the attack and pitch to be clearly audible in the mix. I like a fat bottom end, and if I can I want to get vintagey old school tones as well as modern Aggressive bright tones. What should I be looking at?

Get a Q6 with 2 bartolini pickups and pre amp. It will sound exactly as you described in your post above. Otherwise I almost never touched the tross rod on my Q6 (the neck is/was extremely stable over the last 17 years) but (IMO) it's good to have a truss rod in your neck, just in case.

2 pickups (what you’ve heard - 1 is very uncommon), EMGs (barts are too polite), truss rod (necessary).

Thanks! There's a couple of 90's instruments for sale, I think neither has a truss rod. If an instrument from '91 has always had a good neck, isn't it unlikely it would go bad now?

Some people have said they prefer the non-truss rod models because the neck feels better (slimmer?), what do you think about that?

That is absolutely beautiful! Is that what it looks like in person?
