Chuck I'm glad you chimed in! I forgot to mention my Q6 does not have a truss rod. That maybe the weight difference along with the slightly larger neck. I also have quad coil barts which are much heavier than the EMG that were stock. Metal knobs too. I guess anything can make a little difference. It balances so well, really feels like it weighs less than the strap.
Well that is impressive. The last 6 i had was 10lbs, 10oz after having replaced the bridge and tuners. The fact that I am not a 6 string player was the deciding factor in selling it though.
Yes, it was a 2005 (and is currently in the classifieds, not by me).
I never weighed the TBX 6 i had (that @Bob_Ross now has), bit I was a lot younger then
Not exactly. There are 97 and 98 models with no truss rod that have the newer neck pocket design

I have no idea what it weighs. In fact, I have no idea what any of my basses weigh. Don't own a bathroom scale, or a fish scale, or...whatever it is you guys use to get these incredibly precise weights. Postage scale?
Magic scale with the bass on one side and a bunch of Lilliputians on the other side. Very accurate...

Arrived! Feels light, fast and mean. Sounds great. It’s a totally different note bloom than anything I’ve ever played. My 3 favorite bands are powered by Modulus Quantum basses. I’ve wanted one for about 15 years. Dream bass.

What do you guys like to do with tone sculpting on your modulus? On board or outboard. Do you find yourself boosting or cutting certain things on often?
obviously a billion things play a part in that like strings. I find myself going flat or boosting a low mid on my EMG Parametric mid.

I run my q5 flat, use just a little contour and mid sculpting in my head. Bqc pre and it sounds good that way. I have another q5 with some other emg pre and in that one I do have to fiddle with the eq.
