wd40 does wonders... *edit* ooops, assuming you have a phenolic fretboard; then, yeah, wd40 does the trick. What would you guys recommend to use on the fretboard? I thought it was "black" but now it looks as you see it, almost like a really dark wood. I feel like it needs "restoring".
Agreed. Probably Phenolic so you aren't going to hurt it. Careful of any poly cracking along the edge if any. Maybe a fret dress.wd40 does wonders...

Hey everybody,
Just purchased 92' TBX6(looks like Turbo pickup spacing) yesterday for a really great price. It is the first time I ever got to play a TBX6. Now I understand what owners have been saying. I have owned many nice Q5's and Q6's...a couple that I should have never sold, but this is the best sounding Modulus I have ever played, the sustain and piano like clarity are beautiful.
I do have a question though regarding the kahler fixed bridge. I would like an easier bridge for adjustments etc... Have any of you changed to another style bridge without problems of string height and intonation?
Here are some pics.

I have been in touch with Tony for parts for an older bass and he's been great. Of course, they've been impacted by COVID, so I would imagine it's not going as quickly as usual, but I would rate my experience as very good.Has anyone ordered a new Modulus through the new Modulus Graphite run by Tony Cimperman? Any comments on the process, communication, customer service, and overall experience? Thanks in advance.

Hey folks. Can someone give me a run down on the differences between an SPi and a SS? I realize that the SPi is "integrated" and the SS is "Sweet Spot", but what exactly does that mean? What is 'integrated'? How much different is the pickup placement difference between the two?
I believe Sweetspot refers to the single pickup Quantum basses (and possibly, specifically the single 18v EMG). The Sweetspot was preceeded by the M-92, which was a single pickup Quantum bass with a pickguard and painted finish. The M-92 was like the first "bargain" Modulus.
I'm guessing SPi refers to the sculpted, asymmetric heel block of the Quantum basses rather than the traditional square Fender-style heel blocks that the VJs have (I think the Flea/FU basses have the square heel block also). I don't believe it had anything to do with pickup placement as I believe the Sweetspot basses had the SPi neck joint.
Have you guys noticed any real difference in tone between a brass and aluminum bridge
have a brass now thinking about changing it out to lighten it up a bit
I forgot about the Prime bass, which sat between the M-92 and the Sweetspot feature-wise. There's a lot of info in the old catalog.
