Yes I would have to agree it gives the bass more aggressive edge.even with finger style.

It is most definitely not the original bridge. I looked but couldn't find anything like it and TB didn't have any ideas either. It would be nice to have something that fit but it's fine.
It would be nice if GG answered :)

EDIT: I asked Joe Perlan about this a while ago and he said it was a Gotoh.

if you put a bridge with 19mm spacing on your tbx5, your 'b' string and 'g' string will be hanging precariously off the fretboard.

are there any other 5-string bass bridge options with piezo's in the saddles?

Ghost said that Hipshot modifies a Hipshot bridge to fit Ghost's saddles and I need to reach out to Ghost to buy it. I imagine it's $$$$.

ghost Pickups ABM style piezo 5 string bass

Graph tech makes piezo saddles that are a direct fit into ABM bridges (which is one of the manufacturers Modulus used for a time). Just buy a 17mm ABM bridge and put these saddles in. Done (pending managing the countersink).

Graphtech and Ghost are essentially the same people. Ghost makes the piezo. Correct me if I'm wrong.
ABM...ok I will look into that because I know the Hips are $$$

Yeah I should have mentioned, I’ve not had extensive experience with either so I can make 0 comment on sound, so I would entirely believe what you have said. I merely presented the easiest mechanical solution, but if the sound quality is subpar, then it may be worth pursuing a solution with Hipshot.

Just stumbled over this wonderful video of Bill Frisell's trio from 1989, featuring Kermit Driscoll playing a Modulus Graphite Quantum-5 SPX:



I used to go see Bill's band a lot during this time period, I remember being so excited when Kermit made the transition from a Schecter PJ to this Modulus because it was right around the same time I ordered my first Quantum (also an SPX, albeit a 6-string).

I can't be everywhere! If I think this is about the crusty old 6-string piezo, it was probably a Gotoh. We made some basses for Phil Lesh and others with this bridge at the time. I imagine it's been discontinued for ages.

Hello everyone. Luckily, I found a used Modulus Quantum 6 and decided to buy it next week. However, one problem that comes to mind is that the quantum was made in 2001. I know that graphite neck is in another level of stability and many people own basses older than that, but... still, I'm a bit worried about that +20-year-old bass.
