I've had a request to bring back a single MM pickup 4-string. I've done this in the past, and when I originally researched it back in the old MG days, Music Man had more than one pickup placement anyway. If any of you have a 4 string FB, I'd be curious as to the distance from the 12th fret to the top of the pickup rout. I'm not sure what I'll end up using, but it would be nice to know.

I have a 5 string FB. Would that be helpful? If so I can take measurements later this week or top of next when I get near mine again.

It depends. When I do a 35" scale, I have to mathematically adjust for the scale length to get the same harmonic character.

Exactly! That's precisely what I asked Jerry to do for a Stingray 5H replicate with 35" scale. As such the 12th to pickup center for 35" scale was set at 355mm instead of 345mm. Same tonal character, just tauter strings!
Mojotone was making a 2 band pre EB replica. Not sure why it's no longer listed on their website. A Modulus type Sabre is a great idea but the neck pickup interferes with the neck butt.

Hi everyone, I recently changed my Q5's tuning from BEADG to ADGCF and strung it with a thicker gauge of strings. I noticed that the neck had very little relief and I was getting some buzzing on the first fret so I loosened the truss rod (it's a 2003 model). I've been loosening it a quarter turn per day and I've currently turned it 4 quarter turns. The neck hasn't moved at all. It's my only bass with a carbon fiber neck and it's my first time adjusting it so I have little experience with the stability of these necks. Does it usually take a lot of quarter turns to see a result or am I doing something wrong here?
Are you feeling resistance when you are turning the nut? If not, you’re in the “dead spot”, and you have to get through that until you start feeling resistance when you turn it. I’ve not done it on a Modulus, but on a Status Graphite with a similar system, it did seem to take forever, but the difference was noticeable when I got through it.
Thanks for the reply! I was feeling some resistance for the first two quarter turns and then the next two quarter turns had no resistance so I imagine I hit the dead spot after the first two. I guess I need to go past the dead spot and see if I get any movement. I thought that loosening the truss rod even before the dead spot would help introduce some forward bow but I guess dual action rods don't work like that.
I recently picked up a '00 Genesis 5.
The neck feels amazing to me. Way better that my Carvin LB 75. I am so in love with this Bass. The eq is full of options. I understand it's the same Bart pre that's in the Q series. I have 10 Basses and this one will get most of my playing time.
