Swapped pickups and the noise is gone. Good luck with your build. How has your experience been placing an order? How long is the build time currently?
Glad it's resolved and thanks. I ordered the bass in June and it should be done in April. Pretty smooth ordering process as well.

I had that problem with original Lane Poor pickups. I sent them back to him to investigate, but he went under. He owes me two 6 string pickups!
Yeah, at this point it doesn’t seem like he’s interested in taking it back to investigate and has basically told me it’s my problem. Also has repeatedly told me he’s never had any problems with Lane Poor pickups. OK… but I do have a problem.

Yup. I wish I had decided to live with the noise and kept them. They sounded great!

I know that legacy pickups is a completely silly company that barely produces any pickups and then sells new old stock at high markups on eBay which is somewhat unscrupulous.

I could be wrong but I think they basically only work with Modulus Graphite so you have to talk to Tony to get any pickups. And it’s not easy to get a special order. You basically have to buy a bass from them to get the pickup. They do sound great, but not really worth dealing with the noise, in my opinion.

i think he has/had an option of a graphite neck (not built by modulus). i could be mistaken tho...
Yeah, it's an Ambush. Moses graphite made some necks for him at one point. Eventually his necks were wood with graphite stringers I think.

_I prefer EMG's over LP. I was lucky that when I bought my VJ bass that it already had active EMG's in it. Even when I had a MM Sterling (made in USA) I swapped out to a Bartolini vs LP. I miss Chad & Even from Bass Northwest - what a great shop to be your local shop.
