Modulus Mob

All of us current Modulus owners waiting for those used prices to go up more ;)

I don't know why people are whining about Modulus Graphite raising there prices, I mean they are priced up there with every other high-end boutique bass builder, if anything Fodera & Alembic for example are even more expensive so and besides Tony from Planet Bass basically invested into Modulus to get them back on there feet and I'm sure that was no cheap undertaking in itself. Last I heard Modulus was getting close to 2 or 3 year backlog so I'm guessing they are doing well as far as business is concerned, so I guess those high prices everybody are whining about apparently aren't effecting there business, I'd like to possibly get a brand new TBX 6 but waiting there backlog I could be dead by then!!!!

I keep an eye out on the used market here in Europe and I've noticed some Modulii priced at current rates which just aren't selling. It's a shame because some of them are in pristine condition.

I love my Modulus and haven't ever considered selling it but the market doesn't seem to support the current used prices.

I was very excited earlier. I took my 1997 VJ w/ EMG's & tuned to C#, plugged into my SansAmp DP-3X through my normal rig (Eden WT-300 & SWR 2x12) and damn, I couldn't put it down. I must have had this bass for 3 or 4 yrs now but never tuned it that low which is weird since one of the bands I was in in the 90's C# was our normal tuning. Anyway, it was almost like getting a new bass today (almost) :-)

Anyone use their Modulus 4 string tuned C# F# B E? I was curious what brand/gauge strings you run. I have a 1997 VJ and just have a 45-105 set tuned down to C# but wanted to try the 50-110 but I'm not sure if I can run those without having to modify the nut. Any recommendations appreciated.

I used to run a La Bella Jameson set (52-110) on a factory VJ nut without issue

I'm running my Quantum tuned ADGCF (so half a step higher than yours) and I was running a .110 without touching the nut and it was fine. I eventually went up to a .120 and it needed modification though.
