Modulus not Flea anymore

Oh, I didn't know that ended badly. I'd just heard that they wouldn't give him a sig bass so he went elsewhere.

I couldn't care less who buys what, because of Flea. I don't even like him; what's your point?

I think there is no Flea model for exactly the reason Sterling stated in the post. I was trying to be funny :hmm:

In my opinion, I think this is a good move. Lots people dont like playing musician's signatures and would rather just have a great bass they could call their own.

Although the main selling feature of the bass was because Flea played it, Im sure if its really as good as the price tag says, it will be just as successful as the Funk Unlimited.

I suppose everyone could see it coming - Flea's signature came off the headstock a while ago, and he's been seen less and less playing his Modulii and more and more with his pink Fender.

But "Funk Unlimited"? Rubbish name. They should have gone back to the pre-Flea "Sonic Hammer" monicker.

After Chad Smith got something like $100,000 to do a signature snare drum, Flea demanded a deal like that from Musicman/Ernie Ball. They declined since the Stingray was such a signature instrument for so many players. He went to Modulus to do that bass and probably got money. Now he is probably moving on for money as well. It's a shame. His best playing was done on a Stingray and that is the tone for him. Listen to "Johnny Kick A Hole in the Sky" and that's the tone right there.

I remember when my bass teacher taught me that song. I was very fond of it. :P
I think if Fender gave Flea a bass, id loose respect for them.
