Mohini Dey - 2019 NAMM

Think tabla!
That's why most of you don't get what she does.
I get exactly what she's doing. I'm just over the uber choppy playing by virtuoso players. She's young and talented but it's a shame she's falling into that hole. It no longer appeals to me. To each his own. Give me a cool funky groove.

I am a pretty fan of Mohini Dey, it would be great to her lock in for a set of songs.
She has had great chops for years, I see anything new this year, but her presentation was much better.

She sounds very little like Anthony Jackson, nothing like Les Claypool, and the comparison to a tabla player is ridiculous.

But that's fine. She can do her own thing; she doesn't have to imitate others or be derivative. She is at NAMM, playing chops-heavy music, perfect for NAMM. :)
