Monster Cable Lifetime Warranty

I've owned numerous Monster cables that have eventually died on me and I've never availed myself of the Lifetime Warranty.

Last week a high-end Monster cable died on me. It had very little usage on it so I decided to try the warranty. I filled out the info on their website and received an immediate confirmation that they received my email and would get back to me. It's been a week today and I've not heard anything.

Have any of you gotten Monster to honor their lifetime warranty on cables? If so, how did you go about it?

Thanks!

I have one Monster Cable, and Ive had it for maybe 5 or 6 years now and aside from looking a little worn its in great condition!

Is it really as easy as "walk into gc, give them bad cable, walk out with new cable"?
Do they require something be filled out? And is the new cable also covered by the same warranty?

no - GC is pretty good with warranty replacements. I did it a few times with cheap livewire cables, once with a monster. I'm not looking forward to walking in with a mogami - but hopefully they'll be just as pleasant lol

Im not sure which part you were saying no to. No, it isnt that easy? No there is nothing to fill out? Or no the replacement cable is not under warranty?

I've replaced a few over the years and have had no issues sending them in to Monster, even without an RA#. They've sent me a new one each time in a couple of weeks.

Maybe I'll try the GC walk-in the next time it happens and save on shipping.

I bought a spare so I always have a new back-up just in case.

How have you sent them to Monster without an RA#? What address did you use?

I finally heard back from them via email after 10 days! Wow, that's some slow customer service times. After that long delay they told me to call their support line...

at 877-800-8989 (Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 5:30PM PST) to arrange a possible Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) warranty exchange. Have your receipt available when calling.

That is true. The lifetime guarantee rom MC doen't work. I have a lot of products from them, from cables to power supply.
I bought 02 years ago one very expensive turbine earphone, and after 01 year it stop to work one channel. I wrote to MC and after a lot of ino they asked me for a ticket, that after all I lost. I bought from official dealer but without ticket no deal.

So don't believe in MC, besides the good products.

I have lots of cables, but not a single Monster in the bunch. Some of them are 30 years old. I can only think of one that failed other than by the center wire breaking in the connector, which I can fix myself in about 5 minutes. I've got no use for a "lifetime warranty", or for Monster Cables for that matter.

YMMV.

ggunn that is fine as long as the cable is fixable. IMO you need either lifetime warranty OR a cable designed to be fixed. Your choice.

When I am playing on my own and I keep a good eye on my equipment, my cables last a LONG time. However when I am playing with others, particularly with large groups crammed into small spaces (I am often in these situations) my cables don't last long. If you have children around or just any clumsy people(I often qualify here) your cables also don't last long.

I bought a monster cable a while back in the 20 dollar range. I wondered why everybody complained about expensive monster cables. I had to go get the cable replaced (I loaned it out, it wasn't my fault) I went to guitar center for a replacement, they no longer had my cable but I was able to upgrade. The new cable would have been almost 60 bucks if I was a first time buyer. I will keep my monster cables going as long as I can, however I will not buy a new one at those prices.

I had a similar problem with a Planet Waves cable that I bought on sale. Didn't work straight up.
Being me, I hadn't kept the receipt either.
I took it back to the shop, they looked through their sales history and found my transaction, and offered me a replacement on the spot.
I opted to drop some extra coin and got a Spectraflex, which is the real deal for me.
