Moon Basses

[MAJOR METAL]

They're great basses. Boutique all the way. Here'a a pic of one I owned for about a year or more. I loved that bass. I sold it only b/c I had to switch back to 4's.

Oh yeah... Here'e the Moon web page. I'm not sure if they are made to the same level of quality as they once were. I thought I heard about personnel changes in the company or them having been sold to a parent company but they may still be very nice.

Nice basses, just had a look at their website without installing the language pack you keep getting prompted for! Some English words in there, found they have a new model called "Takesh#t" probably means something totally different in Japenese, it just stands out on the page though!

I dig the Moons. As for a Graham sig, other than Moon, Celinder also makes one. Why Fender is ALWAYS missing the boat on these things, is beyond me. You see how long it for for Marcus, Geddy, and Jaco sigs.

That Celinder is a sweet looking bass, but it's not really a Larry Graham signature model (it's better looking, IMO, to begin with, and you can't attach your mic to it like Mr Graham does to his all the time, for example). It's Celinder's twist on the Graham model, nothing else. That's why they call it a "Tribute". Same thing with the Marcus Miller Tribute they offer. It's not a signature, since none of the mentioned artists actually play one, but a bass that shows homage to what an influential bassist plays.

When you do everything by comittee, have meetings up on meetings, do prototypes get artist approvals, and THEN offer a bass that isn't even THAT interesting or variant of their current offerings ('cept the Victor Bailey), you got yerself a Fender.

Like I said before, I'm not anti-Fender at all, I just wish they took actual chances, and ran with an idea instead of stting on the obviousness of it all for years upon years. HOW long did it take for a Jaco bass? I mean really. Not sure if his estate was a hold-up on the issue, but geez.
