for the band im doing now i have my bass highly distorted but my main prob is that the distortion is taking out allllllllll of my low end and therefore making me sound really bad what can i do to add more low end into the mix of my sound and make my notes come out more punchy and clean? please all and any help i would love

what are you using now and what kind of distortion do you want? there are only about a million pedals that do it. you have to be more specific about what you're looking for.

currently im using either a boos bass overdrive or boss metal zone and i knoe those are both bad pedals but iv been using a bass boster to put in some low end which still isnt working too well
im looking for something with a really nice distorted sound but keeps all my low end at the same time
metal zone is most likely the culprit. ok, so the bass od isn't the best distortion unit out there for bass. but it's got good bass response.
alot of people have been quoted as saying you can't eq back in what isn't there,...
if you want to go cheap you can get the ibanez PD7 (just don't use the attack switches) and you can dial in plenty of bottom end,... if it sounds too digital/fake etc like has been said there are a million options,... and of course the option to use a LS2 or similar pedal to blend back in the clean sound giving you back plenty of lows,...
to help everyone out with opinions try restating the question with what sort of tone you want, do you want crazy gain or just a little bit, price range, etc etc
wel i have used the bass od without the metal zone and its still crazy high end it sounds very tinny i want low end clear notes and distorted bass

Re-EQing back in frequencies... you can do it, but it takes some serious boosting and, unless your distortion is on all the time, it'll dramatically change your clean tone.
How about this, why don't you go to www.bassfuzz.com and listen to all those clips, then get back to us?
ok, so try a tech 21 vt bass, a fulltone sparkle drive, or catalinbread sft to replace the overdrive, and i have no clue what to replace the metal zone with, though a source audio multiwave is a current fave around here for lots of different types of distortion at a good price. now that you've gotten a little more specific, people may have some more ideas of what would work. i was thinking you might wanted to upgrade your cab rig as well, and then i looked up your profile. obviously it's not the rig's fault since you have an svt/810.
I quite like using my PD7 as an OD but thats just me others have disagreed. For more distortion/fuzz I have taken to blending via an LS2 with a devi ever hyperion in the loop, perfect for when I need to retain a low end but can still pump in distortion/fuzz.
If you are looking for a fuzz that can cut through the green russian/civil war big muff clones are reportedly good for bass retention. If you need mids to cut through the musket fuzz and the supercollider are just some of many that have mids controls.

I recently saw a post here on TB someplace and the user had a picture of his pedal board and he used some Rolls signal splitters/mixers. The bass went into the splitter which then went into various effects and one signal went clean. He mixed all his signal splits back into a single signal with the Rolls mixer.
Basically for you set up, split the signal before you run into your distortion. Then send a signal into the distortion pedal and that goes into a channel input on the mixer. Another channel on the mixer would receive you clean signal which is unaffected by any effects pedals. You can mix the sources at the mixer and then combine them back into a single signal. Thus, you have your wildly distorted sound mixed in with your clean sound and you can blend the balance to your liking and get the sound you are looking for.
Sorry if this sounds complicated but it really isn't, especially when you see a schematic for it. I'm not sure what Rolls products he used but they are small little black boxes that are just placed onto his pedal board.

I went to the thread I saw this idea posted by a TB'er and copied his link which shows the pedal board and a flow-chart schematic. He doesn't name the Rolls products in the graphic but you can probably figure it out from the pictures.

that was probably my board.
i went back to using two "passive" dod 4 channel mini mixers one at each end of my board and split up my signal with clean/distortion or fuzz/subs or pitch shifting/modulation(filters and flangers). this way i can control the incoming signal strength and the final out signal strength separately for those pedals that do not have that option.
its like having a parallel looper with volume knobs instead of on/off buttons.
you can do the same with a LS-2(2 channels only) that i also run in my modulation channel.
