Most comfortable strap?????

I have been looking around for a new strap, my shoulder gets sore halfway through the night. I have for the past 10 years been using a Levy's 3 1/2 wide leather strap . i recently bought a levy's neoprene strap , but the stretch is just to much , plus it sticks to my shirt ..
I have been thinking of getting either a

NEOTECH MEGA BASS
COMFORT STRAP
OR THE LEVY'S M29 5" ERGONOMIC STRAP
ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT..OR ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE WELCOMED..

I don't know what brand it is, but I was given a nice 4'' leather strap with sheeps wool padding on it and I can play my heavy arse destroyer for hours with no problem with my shoulder or back like I would when I was just using a normal 3 1/2'' leather strap. The wool makes a giant difference though like I said I don't know what brand it was, it can't be very rare I'd imagine

Is this a heavy bass? Not to get off subject, but it might be time for a lighter bass.
Back on subject I use two Levy's PM32's and the one that's broken in is MUCH more comfy for long gigs. So maybe oil and wrap/stretch the strap and see how it does?

I love neotech straps. They are the most comfortable straps I've ever used. I have both the mega bass strap, and the super bass. The mega bass is wider, but I prefer the look and feel of the slightly thinner super bass strap. The mega bass straps look a little awkward on me considering how wide they are, and it also rubs on my neck a little, again due to how wide it is. The slightly thinner super bass is a winner in my book. I also have the comfort strapp, and while it is comfortable, it isn't as nice looking as the neotech straps.

Same goes for the neotech then. Both the comfort strapp and neotech straps are neoprene. As I said, I personally love the neotech super bass strap, but if you don't like neoprene then these straps probably aren't for you.

I have both and the Comfort Strapp is noticeably more elastic. The "load bearing" part is elastic webbing with neoprene padding. On the Neotech, it's just neoprene.

well i had a broken collar bone years ago and , seems the older I get the worse it gets, I think width is more of a benefit in my case. I played a friends bass the other night for about an hour , he had a cheap nylon strap but it was wide , and it felt better than my levy's, but for four hours it would be hard.

and yes my bass's are all around 10 pounds , i have a new one on the way that is a little over 7 lbs so that should help, it is just the stretch thing that seems to bother me along with the neoprene holding heat, that is not a plus for me.

I have a 4" leather Moody strap, really high quality and comfortable. My shoulder isn't the problem, but my lower back is. Generally speaking, I can play for long periods of time with no physical discomfort. Only my 10.5 lb Fender P causes me back discomfort after awhile, despite the quality of strap used.

My sister had a strap made for me back in the 60's - wide leather strap with a layer of sheepskin on the inside. Best Strap EVER!. Now it seems to have disappeared, and I am very chagrined as I am older and the basses are heavier.

I am currently using 2 Italia straps that are very wide, and nice quality, but I plan to add a sheepskin layer to one of them for comparison.

Sheepskin, by the way, has unique cushioning properties. This is why it is used for hospital beds and car seat covers.

I noticed the same thing. I like both the ComfortStrapp and the Neotech but I prefer the Neotech for that reason.

I also have a 4" wide leather Levy's and prefer the neoprene's over this one. In fact, once I tried the Neotechs I replaced all my other straps with them except for the one ComfortStrapp that I have.

I just recently bought a "padded" 3 1/2" wide strap from Levy's and I am NOT pleased at all. My shoulder muscles still KILL. The leather is really hard (because its new) and there really is virtually no padding on it. I'm so tired of spending money on straps...
I think I'll try the Neotech Mega Bass next.

Hmmm... the Neotech Mega Axe strap seems to be a little longer, and slightly different from the Mega Bass strap...

I think the Mega Axe has a longer leather piece at the front of the strap before the neoprene part starts making it about 4" longer in total.
