Most Elegant Bass That You've Seen?

Elegant is beauty through simplicity. Most of the examples here do not fit that criteria. Are they attractive? Depends on your tastes. Are they elegant? Nope.

Probably an old single pickup bass (thinking a single coil P bass) would be the most appropriate for this.
You're almost there. Elegance also implies a degree of gracefulness.

That's something I just don't see in a Precision. It's practical, it's simple and it's popular (especially here) but I can't agree that it's at all graceful or elegant.
 
Elegance. Hmmm. I look for genius; a penetrating perception of what's important, minimalist implementation of a mechanism to realize it (i.e., simplify it just enough, but no further), and all followed by the elimination of the superficial.

For genius, I'd go with anything sporting the Precision split pickup. Everything else is mere detail. The end result is elegance.
