Hello All...

I am curious. What, in your opinion, would be the most rockin-est bass ever. No before you just start typing away about this one looks coolest...etc.

I am interested in...the most rock bands using a particular bass because of: 1. its sound (sound=rock), 2. the number of bands using it in the rock genre, and 3. longevity in the industry.

So ... please fire away with your opinions.

hands down, the clear winner is Fender P-bass

sound: you'll find the P being used in all genres of rock music (yes, I did say "ALL")

longevity: since 1951...say no more...

With all due respect to the Fender P/J, Stringray, and Ric basses, I think the Spector NS-2 has nicely positioned itself as a contender over the past 25 years.
