Mothman Rises from the Ashes....Again!

Ed Friedland is the only mortal knows the secret to controlling and taming the Mothman. He is our only hope. If it is too risky to get the Mothman to Texas, perhaps Ed will go to the Mothman.... I'll kick in $20.

If Ed will do it, I'll kick in $20 via Paypal. That's a no-brainer. Anyone else? Does anyone here know how to contact Ed? Seriously, I'm all about seeing his review of the "best bass for metal."

I have dodged the Cthulhu bullet once.
Honestly since I have a small family with daughters to support and I have decided to first offer the Mothman in trade with Sonny being my proxy.

Feel free to keep your offers on the thread.

Please do not offer Basses or Amplification (Thanks in advance)

Markbass Super Synth or Nice quality Gig bag ect/

Okay...I'm a little confused about what kind of trades you are looking for? I'm sure that I can find something interesting...

I, as one of the Mothman 25, have ulterior motives... I want to bring Mothman into the house of Slingblade so that their powers may converge to bring my (as of) now destroyed double-neck bass back to life;

Kind of like in Steven King's Pet Cemetery.

Ouch...how the hell did that happen?

Upon hearing the news that The Mothman was again searching for a new victim...er, home; The skies turned black, the wind howled and then a huge lightning bolt struck my shop and with a blood curdling scream, my Double neck made a 6' swan dive to it's death on the hardwood floor below.

Actually, when I hung it up in my new shop, the anchors I used were too small & they tore through the sheetrock causing it to fall.

But if anybody asks, I'm blaming Mothman. ;)

You mentioned a gig bag - I have one of those sorta hardshell bag / cases, brand new. Very nice case. My motive already stated earlier: auction Mothman for proceeds going to a school for autistic children. Redemption for being tainted by the dark force of Mothman.

I knew it. I knew it! Oh, its all fun and games and silly jokes, then you all started talking about a raffle. Started this nonsense of thinking someone could become the sole possessor by virtue of a drawing. You had no idea the forces you were attempting to wield.
I didnt want to be "that guy" by warning you. Like the old codger at the gas station warning the car full of kids to stay away from Camp Kill on Blood Lake when the moon is full you'd have laughed and gone on you merry soon-to-be-doomed way, making fun of me and my alarmist prophesies of damnation. I thought; "they'll realize the folly and stop this madness" and kept quiet.
And now look, the Mothman bass has been un-fettered from its bonds, free to roam where it please, sowing pestilential hate wherever it passes. Infighting, jealousy, covetousness rule the forum, human sacrifice, cats and dogs living together...mass hysteria!
And now you talk of auctions and trades and even dragging Ed Friedland into this. Fie!
I shall pray for your souls...and keep my doors locked at night.

Sure, I'm not one of the inner circle of the 25. And I don't want to be a party pooper, but weren't the rules that the "winner" was required to deal with shipping the Mothman as a condition of ownership? So do I detect a bending of the rules here?

The rules said the "winner" could do whatever he/she so pleased. Well, if the "winner" can be said to have free will of his/her own.

Sonny clearly originally stated the winner would have no obligation to the other people who put in for the lotto. Sonny agreed to let him try to trade it through him. end of story. Stop looking to make drama guys.

Isn't there some giant coal furnace in Baltimore that we could pretend is Mount Doom and just toss this abomination in and send it back to which it came?

+1

The joke is losing steam fast.

Agreed with both ^^^^^^

Seriously, this thread and the whole process has gone on very smoothly. In a way, I'm really shocked that there hasn't been any major drama or other BS, since it seems that every time one of these well-meaning events takes place somebody gets burned or PO'd and inevitably, the TB moderators have to come in and shut it down. And big props to the Mods and Admins for allowing the lotto thing to develop and be successful :bassist:

The rules are clear (see post # 287). Basswave has won the bass and, in turn, has made some type of arrangement with Sonny. As far as I'm concerned, it's a done deal .... so please, let's not turn this into a mess 'cause if it gets out of control we'll never see this type of thing here again on TB.

Might I suggest that, if you are seriously interested in the Mothman, you contact Basswave and try to make whatever arrangement you'd like. I know what I would have done if I had won the lotto, so I'll contact Basswave and see if my offer to him would be acceptable.

Again, please, please, please .... no more moaning about the "rules". Everything has run smoothly and if we ever expect to be able to get this kind of thing going again we all need to just congratulate Basswave for his good fortune and move on ...

Thank You Ed and Lazarus

There where a couple of times I started to write something in regards to some of the responses, but I deleted it instead. It was just not worth it.

I have not made any decisions yet on how I'm proceeding other then I'm hook up Sonny when this is all said and done.
