Mothman Rises from the Ashes....Again!

The Evil lord has been silent for a few months. Where is the Mothman currently, and has it chosen a new [DEL]victim[/DEL] owner?

Who is the current Mothman host? Inquiring minds need to know!

The Mothman's Progress needs to be followed as he makes his way slowly back to Point Pleasant where when time has come full circle he shall destroy mankind's puny miserable attempts at a replacement for the Silver Bridge.

THE MOTHMAN BASS

The Mothman Bass is a concept instrument created by Dark Hollow Instruments. The bass pays tribute to the legendary creature sighted in West Virginia in the late 60's.

5 string , 35" scale, 5 piece laminate neck through contruction, hollow chambered body, jumbo frets, 2 way adjustable truss rod, adjustable heavy alloy bridge, passive soapbar humbucking pickup, volume and tone controls, side position markers.

The Mothman Bass is constructed of several different woods to achieve an extremely solid instrument with superior tone qualities and an appearance like no other instrument. The body is built on a foundation of two layers of Black Walnut. On top of the Walnut is a layer of red Bloodwood. The dark layer on the top is Wenge. The neck is a 5 layer laminate of Walnut and Purpleheart. The fingerboard is made from Bocote and nut is made of Ebony. In order to lighten the bass, the body was hollowed out from the back. The "Suit of Armor" plates on the back of the bass conceal the hollow chambers in the body. Even after this lightening process, this bass is still very heavy. All plates are permantly attached except the small elliptical plate for access to the controls.

We plan to sell the Mothman Bass on Ebay commemorating the 4th Annual Mothman Festival in Point Pleasant West Virginia. The auction will end approx 5pm EST on Saturday September 17th. The auction will begin approx Sept 7th. The bass will be on display at the Mothman Festival on Saturday. Auction will end before our favorite part of the Mothman Festival.... The Haunted Hayride at the TNT Area!

This bass required a massive amount of labor, and I'm not likely to produce another one anytime soon! Thanks.

Mothman is a HOLLOWBODY? Whoda thunk it?

Of course the fact that he's made of BLOODWOOD, PURPLEHEART and BLACK walnut comes as no surprise to anyone!

Slowly and deliberately the TB scientists quietly probed the deep dark mysteries of the Moth!

Note the above auction was at 4th festival (2005). This year is the 10th Mothman festival!

They forgot to mention the brimstone toneblock.

It's been a long time since I've seen that write up. That's where I got it was on eBay many years ago. I also got the CURSED RED RICKENBACKER on eBay too. Believe it or not, The RED RICK was truly bad luck, everything changed for the better after I got rid of it!!! I guess my pick in basses was as bad as my pick in women LOL!!

I have noticed with casual interest the frequency of these Mothman threads throughout the history of TB.

I just have to ask: Are these all really the same bass? Is it possible there are more than one?

the age old question- are the Mothman sightings the same one or are there more than one - existing in secluded spaces.
if you listen - we might be able to detect subtle sonic & visual differances proving the existance of yet another true species-

Also to be asked is where is the rest of the Moth Maiden photo session pics :hiding:

I do hope the current captive of the mothman steps up and checks in.

OK it went from the lottery to the winner who never touched it and passed on having it shipped and made it available to anyone that would pick it up from me in person so it then went to eyeballkid who traded it to Quadzilla who is the OP on this mega-thread he says he doesn't have it anymore but didn't disclose any further details.
So who has it?
