Double Bass Mozart 29 4th mvmt question... the trills

Hello,

How are the trills done in bars 5-6 (and similarly elsewhere) of the 4th movement of Mozart 29?

Is the trill on the D up to E and then F# up to G#?

Do the trills occur only on the 1st eighth note of the triplets or the 1st-2nd combined? On most Youtube recordings I've seen it seems to be the latter but they go by fast!

Trill on first note only, main note and one blip up and back. This is not a "prepared trill" with upper note start. It is also not cadential. Just a happy little ornament in passing.

Thanks. Supplementary Question... looking at the first triplet for example, are both C# notes then played?

Good to know this thrill starts on first note up as I would have incorrectly started on E and Gsharp.
Actually, I probably would have ignored as it seems quite fast.
Almost seems that it's just a quick tip to the upper note and keep moving.
Must be a period or Mozart thing.

I did lots of research on baroque ornamentation for my flute degrees and thesis, so I'm an ornamentation nerd. The first beat of the trill measure would be D E D C# C#, with a slur over the first four notes I just typed. So down up for the whole first beat.

OK, thanks that makes sense. I'll run it by the concertmaster and MD to make sure that's what they are expecting.

It's interesting that the oboe has a slightly different rhythm... they don't have the last note of the triplets. I wonder why Mozart did that?

'Cause it sounds cool! Those staccatoed 3rd and 6th beats are like a drum hit in a rest.
