Yeah it's not awesome that i have to dime the bass knob. I mean, it doesn't HAVE to be dimed to get your low end in. But I like the way it effects the flavor when it is. The pic above is what I'm diggin right now. It has a very 250 flavor to it IMO. And I like that. With the treble control, it makes a winner for me. This could very well be the one for me. It's got great warmth and clarity to it. I also love the look of the pedal and am a fan of these LEDs too.
I still would like to try a BBBOD but the mr black will do for a while.
Your setting is pretty much exactly where mine lives at. I love the pedal more with the gain knob down where you have it because it allows for a lot of touch sensitive headroom. Congrats on joining a very exclusive club Monman.

Cool. So then at the moment, what is your dirt selection? Mine is the Mr Black Bass OD fed into a B3K fed into a Dungeon Master (or D4). These three cover all my personal bases. The Black OD for natural uncolored girth, the B3K for grindey heaven and the Dungeon Master for over the top sludge.

Yes, I noticed that Hail Satan there. Abominable is a company I'm on the fence about. I am (or was before the price increase) intrigued by their offerings (the Demon Lung caught my eye). But the prices are too high for what they are.Well, at the moment, I have a lot going on haha

As a Big Game fan, I am highly curious about the Bee Baa. You were the person who turned me on to Ryan's work, and he is just behind idiotbox on my favorite builder list. I am buying a BeeBaa as soon as they are released.
PS-I don't know if you saw my thread on the Malekko Plus Ultra 213, but you should check one out. Pretty amazing pedal, although probably needs to be blended to keep lows.
Eh, abominables small price hike doesn't bother me much. I still feel they're decent prices. And his pedals rock so no issue for me there.

There is A LOT going on inside too. Many perameters to control too and it's awesome in the mix so far. The clean blend helps a lot. All in all so far, very nice beebaa fuzz. Awesome bass fuzz.

Well that's cool. I just came up on a BBBOD in a trade. Well, it's a JohnK BBBOD based on the bearfoot with a little more treble bite added to the circuit. So well see what happens. I've been just thinking of going back to my ol ocd. Thinking of getting a custom built v4 with a clean blend. Damn OD. It's been the bane of my board for over 6 months! I feel a final decision coming though. But man, this mr black is pretty awesome. I know I gotta a great pedal when I just want to play it to hear it
Yeah, you have to pump the bass a little bit, but that's why there's a knob. It delivers plenty of lows for me, more than enough, without being dimed. I'm really happy with this pedal. Beautiful break up, dirty, but not overblown. Warm, but not exactly tube-like. It still sounds like my bass, but like i was digging in really hard.
I still have mine. And I'm happy to say I still love the hell out of it! It's an amazing OD pedal. I've put it up against a BBBOD, an OCD, an old 250 and a couple others. The mr black whooped em all for my tastes and setup. It's so crisp and clear and defined. Really holds together in the mix while delivering super solid low end. I don't see anything beating this od for me. It's so good and I'm super happy I decided to grab one
Yeah I like the fact what it's not a "tube drive" od. It's more in the OCD vein. Which I've always liked. But this pedal has me amazed still and I've been using it for over 3 weeks now. Going through an all tube head at high volumes, the mr black OD is HEAVENLY! Oh man it sounds so friggen awesome! And it cuts so well too. I Keep the drive really low and bump the output up. I can't get enough of this pedal. And the best part to me is the 2 band EQ. Enough treble on tap for anything.
I used to love really aggressive OD. I have an old tall font Russian muff, that once was my favorite, but it's not even in the chain anymore. I gave it to my guitarists to play around with because I just don't need it anymore. I'm totally sold on the low gain OD thing now, and this pedal nails it. I agree, it's going to be hard to top this one, for me.
Yeah man I couldn't be happier with it. It's crazy because I'm super picky about my OD sound because I use it so much. And the mr black settled right in and I don't think it's going anywhere any time soon. It's so friggen badass.
