MTD 534 Neck thru

The new bass will be Quilted Maple on Swamp Ash and same neck as the other MTD as well as Tobias #708. The fingerboard is a 20 year old piece of Pau Ferro, same as the other MTD. I am a 34" neckthru kinda guy. Mike is the ultimate luthier and extremely pleasant to deal with. I have owned several Smiths, Sadowskys, and Roscoes, and none have the mojo of a Tobias built bass. My opinion only.

Hey Greg,

I have a couple of posts asking for opinions of the 534 with very few answers. I'm very curious about playability and tone of the 534 versus the 535. I owned a Modulus Q5 (35" scale) for a few months, sold it and picked up a Ken Smith 5 which suits my left hand reach much better.

I would love to hear how the 534 works for you and why!

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Kirk

Mike builds incredible basses and is a genius when it comes to woods and tones. 34" is what I like, have tried a 35" but it just didn't work for me.
