heheh...mine's serial #028, seafoam green, korina body, wenge neck and board...yep, i got it from adrian back in february/march...and what sucked was it got in about two days after my submarine went to sea, so i had to wait until may to actually play it...that sucked...you're right though, it was a smokin' deal...i'm checking it out on tuesday with regards to a band situation-finally...audition time...again...i gotta stop moving

i dunno about the rest of you guys, but my mtd was kind of a light at the end of the tunnel (over ten years in the making)...there were several basses that i told myself i would own someday, and the mtd was the last bass in the list i made for myself (or at least any bass built by mike tobias)...it's kind of funny...of all the basses i've owned, the mtd is the only bass that i have yet find something to be disappointed with

Don't things always seem to work out that way? At lease you now have a bass that makes you 100% happy. I'm figuring that it'll take me about 10 years to save enough for an MTD. Good thing I'm a patient man or I'd go nuts.

I'm STILL looking for the bass that makes me 100% happy. I'm kind of close with the Cirrus, but not quite. It's a shame though because I shouldn't be spending any more money on basses :) Unless I can sell one and get a new one that lets me break even *lol*

For years, I was so happy with my Thunderbird (yes, I'm one of those guys!) that I never even really thought about other basses (much). But two luthiers who always remained in my "sights" were Roger Sadowsky and Michael Tobias. Many years passed with no change on the instrument front. Then, I decided to venture into 5-string land. After wetting my feet on a DeArmond Pilot 5 Deluxe (a stupidly good bass for the money I paid for it), I went on a quest for a great 5 string. It lasted a terribly long time, and I have to admit to being rather disappointed with most of the instruments I played. Then I met Pete Skjold, and the search for my personal "ultimate bass" (or at least "ultimate luthier for me") is over. Still, a part of me would not be satisfied unless I followed through on the long-held goal of owning a Sadowsky (check!) and a bass from Michael Tobias. With any luck, Joel should be helping me out on that last part here fairly soon! ;)
