Mudbucker in the Bridge Position?

i put a dimarzio model one in the bridge of an EB-0 many years ago. sounded like butt.

Back in the late 80's I bought a bass matching exactly that right down to the sound description! (I was young and foolish, and it was cheap and a ***Gibson***) I don't suppose you also routed under the pickguard to install a 3 way toggle and do a plastic rectangular side jack mod?

I'm curious what you might do if you had the instrument back and were interested in putting something different in the bridge position that might actually work WITH the mudbucker and make it a more desirable sounding bass?

I don't think the little EB-3 pickup will quite fill up the hole....

Well, I like a nice fat neck pickup, and a nice bright bridge - so you can chose the right sound for the right song in the right venue. For example a Gibson EB3 has a very different bridge humbucker to the neck.

I did try a two-mudbucker experiment and found that the tonal difference merely from position was not great enough - you just don't get enough tonal variation... so although it works, I just prefer to have something different....

Not a custom shop, but a tele bass with a bridge wide range pickup, a 'modern player' to be specific.
