Display your basses on stands or however when you are not using them or do you store them in their cases? I would like to keep mine out on stands but I have read other info saying that when not being played they should be stored in their cases so that temp and humidity changes don't effect the neck. Thoughts and or opinions on this?

I ususally keep my Rick in its case, out of habit, even though the temperature in my house never varies enough to affect it to a noticeable degree. It's just really to keep it safe more than anything else (like from my two year-old nephew who likes to play it). My Jazz I've been keeping out as a grab-and-play thing, as my nephew hasn't been around much lately.

In the cases. It's like storing your car in a garage, or leaving it in the driveway. It's amazing how much funk is in the air, you can't see it till it collects on the finish. Also, accidents happen, and eventually you'll whack something you'll wish you hadn't.
I don't buy in to the temp/humidity thing so much. If your house is reasonably climate controlled it should be a negligable difference.

Actually when I plugged in "Storing Basses" in search the last response was from a thread from near the end of December. I read this forum pretty much everyday a couple of times and did not remember a thread over the last little while about this topic. My apologies for filling up the internet pipeline with a useless topic. :)

Funny this thread should pop up. I had a freak accident with all my basses (4 basses) and my one guitar last night. Its on the US Peavey club thread....

I have mine out loose to grab and play whenever but after what happened last night, they are all going on wall hangers ASAP and once I get cases for them all, a few I think will be stored in their cases at all times.

I find it most convenient to use a multiple-bass stand (in my case, a 7-instrument box that folds up to look like a guitar case) because I play them all frequently and switch from one to another a couple times a session.

The temperature/humidity thang is problematic. Yeah, it makes a difference. No, keeping them in the case doesn't protect them from either very much. Yeah, one of my basses has a neck that swings back and forth like a garden gate, takes neck adjustment twice a week and bridge tweaks daily. No, the other basses have necks that move seldom (and very slightly) to never. Keeping them all in the cases makes no difference here - the active neck moves, the others do not.

I also have a couple instruments (one bass, one guitar) that I might pull out once a year (actually, I've played that guitar once in 25 years!). Makes sense to leave those in the cases where they are safe from dust and accidents.

I keep three on wall hangers, one on a stand, four in gig bags in a corner, a guitar leaning open against a corner and a lap steel open against a wall.

And I keep my banjo in its hardshell case, to make it quicker to pick up and leave with it.

Everything goes back into it's case until it's needed again. The one exception is my Hoppus P bass. That lives in a gig bag, and spends most of it's time out of the bag propped in a corner and waiting for me to learn new tunes.
