Multiple Fender Precisions in your collection?

Played my Ibanez SR1350B Premium 4 string yesterday, only stopping to complain to my wife that I could not get a decent sound out of it. Today picked up my Sire P5R instead and instantly got the right sound out of it, played effortlessly the same things I was struggling a bit with on the Ibanez. I don't know whey, but the P-bass is just a very easy bass to sound good on, at least for the type of music I play. At 40% the price of the Ibanez.

Yeah, Leo got that one right. Like they say, first, most obvious answer to a problem is usually the correct one.

As for the neck pickup, you are right. As for the bridge one, I based on the official diagram of tech spec…

Typically the industry articles take specs from the horse’s mouth, Fender, but your spec sheet literally is from Fender, so gotta go by that!

So, I'm looking for people who own multiple Fender Precision basses in their collection, because I would love to know why they need more than 1

Need?
You don’t really need more than one. Maybe two, (flats and rounds) if you’re doing sessions or playing a lot of different kinds of music.

I’m down to 1 P with flats but I’ve owned around 20 Fenders from late 50’s to mid 10’s, 1 Custom Shop and 3-4 boutiques. I enjoyed them all and have zero regrets about buying or selling any of them (ok, occasionally I miss the ’62 burst with a ’64 J neck). It’s been an awesome journey.

The goldguard has the maple and 66 pickups in it for a bell-like tone, which is aided by the aluminum guard.
The 74 with the rosewood board has flats on it for the rich and the warm.

What is this "need" thing you speak of?

I have a sunburst 62 AVRI which is my #1.

I also have one of those desirable 1983 vintage reissue Ps, but but it has never overtaken the AVRI.
