Multiple pedal boards. How many do you have and why?

Love to hear from you pedal board junkies that are addicted to building pedal boards and have more than one board. What is the reasoning behind having more. Pictures are more than welcome!

I have two, mostly because I don't feel like lugging one back and forth from rehearsal.

I have similar stuff on both boards, so I can duplicate (kind of) most of my tones at home.

2 one for practice, has a BeatBuddy, looper and an Ms60b in it. The other is a para-di - bassist comp - tuner for not-practice.

6 boards, only four are wired up and populated. Two biggins for improv jams, Sonic noodling, and giggles, and two gig boards with different sized footprints depending on stage real estate.

I have 3 sizes that I'll switch up depending on my needs for a gig. PT Nano, Metro 16, and Metro 24.

Light and fast? Nano...

The Metro 24 is the largest board in comfortable dealing with for gigging these days. It's been my main board for a few years now. It's not large and fits everything I really need with a toy or two.

I recently grabbed the Metro 16 on sale as an in between. It fits everything I actually need for a meat & potatoes approach.

I technically have two boards. My small gigging board and my pedals I keep at the house.

I have several. The smallest has a Sweeper, Lo|Fat OD and a Zoom B2.1u for practices and simple stuff, it can run on a rechargeable battery or 1spot. I have larger boards for bass, guitar\Tweety bass, and synth sounds.

2 - One is a PT-Pro I'm rebuilding/updating and the other is an old Boss ME-8B multi effects unit with expression pedal and 3 footswitches for tuning, tap tempo, and mode switching.

I use two, a Pedaltrain mini and Pedaltrain mini+. One is for the pedals I use for certain songs (need to be able to switch them on and off) and it lives on the floor in front of me. The other is for my “always on” pedals and it lives on my cab. The only exception is my compressor, which is always on but I like it at the beginning of my signal chain, so it lives on the board on the floor. This keeps my setup small an efficient; I can load in and set up in mere minutes. This system came about from years of gigging and it works for me. YMMV.

I play guitar too so, my three boards are:

1) Small plank of wood + velcro/bike chain links
2) Medium-sized plank of wood + velcro/bike chain links
3) Large plank of wood. + velro/bike chain links


Don't think I need much more than this!

Is that a Fender Sublime on the board on the right in that big group pic? If so what happened to the rest of it?

I got it on impulse because it was very inexpensive. Seller said the switch was intermittent. All it needed was some exercise. I would never put it on a board because it weighed about 140lbs. Here is a link to my explanation. It’s a great sounding pedal. It’s still too heavy for me to put it on a board.

I really wanted to rehouse it but the foot rotating pad with the changing color LED put the brakes on that.

Oh wow! You really did cut the front of it off! I thought it was just an optical illusion or something was covering it in that photo! I had a Sublime when they first came out. I remember the box it came in was literally the size of a shoe box! I loved the way that pedal sounded but couldn't get past the size so I sold it. Wish someone made a clone of it but in a smaller package!
